Roman Abramovich was at Chelsea's training ground on Friday - less than 24 hours after sacking Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho was axed by the Premier League champions on Thursday with the club languishing at the wrong foot of the table.

It came just seven months after lifting the title, which was followed with Mourinho agreeing a lucrative four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have lost nine times already this season and another defeat to lowly Sunderland could see them drop into the relegation zone.

The players arrived for training as usual on Friday morning and were soon joined by the club's Russian owner, who watched the training session before speaking to the squad.
