And that part of the scripture keeps coming to mind
The holySpirit, our comforter and our director
He always reminded me of the magnitude of these words
To be sober and vigilant is our calling

When people talk, replay your reply before responding
Before taking an action, think of Christ’s response to it
Before making a decision, think of the consequence
These all are all about a vigilant Christian

A vigilant Christian prays without ceasing
Whether in the bus, park or gathering, he mutters prayer to God
To be sober is to be aware of one’s surrounding
And what better way to be aware than being cautious and quiet

My prayer to believers in Christ reading this piece
Is to think deeply on these words
And to always call on the Spirit of God for direction
I pray God give us grace to be heavenly minded at all times. Amen
