High Demand For Russia's S-400 'sends Shivers Down Washington's Spine' by scully95: 11:38am On Dec 22, 2015
Between when is Nigeria going to place an order for S-300 and S-400?
Washington is "extremely concerned" that more countries are expressing interest in Russia's cutting-edge S-400 air-defense system, analyst Marco Maier wrote for Contra Magazin.

China has become the first nation to purchase the S-400 Triumf. Moscow and Beijing are said to have inked the $3-billion deal last year and China could receive the first batch as early as 2016.
New Delhi has long been eager to add the "mobile and extremely effective" defensive system to its arsenal, the analyst added. Recent reports suggest that Russia and India will sign an agreement, estimated to be worth $6 billion, in the near future. New Delhi is expected to buy 5 regimental units of the S-400.

"Washington is not happy about it since [the S-400] could inflict heavy losses on the air forces of the United States and its allies," Maier observed.

Should more nations opt to put Russian-made air defense systems in service, the US and its partners would be unable to attack areas protected by the S-400 with conventional fighter jets, drones and missiles, the analyst added.

"If Iran or India buys the S-400, they would be able to protect airspace over Pakistan and Afghanistan. A nightmare for the Pentagon," Maier concluded.

The S-400 Triumf (NATO codename SA-21 Growler) is an anti-aircraft and anti-missile system, which is capable of intercepting all types of modern air weaponry, including fifth-generation warplanes, as well as ballistic and cruise missiles at a maximum range of nearly 250 miles.

Yeah. India had already placed an order, 4.5 billion. Russia is selling because it will soon recieve the first set of a more advance type, the S-500, early next year.

Let's see how the empire of chaos will respond to these deals. The deluded warmongers and opportunists believe they can project their power by building military bases all over the world (more than 700). Putin recently said Russia does not need a military base to reach anyone anywhere in the world. Interesting times lie ahead.

I can't wait to see the falling empire down finally.

Is this a super weapon? Lolzz This is just a temporary solution to protect any airspace. In a full time nuclear war (which I pray won't come to pass) , these metals will just be blown away from afar. More so, America already has solutions to this.

have u read the specs of the S- 500?very scary!its alledged that it cam shoot down low orbit satelites and any form of balistics/war heads..if this weapon comes into effect,it definatly will be a game changer..the US claims it has stealth fighter that can penetrate any airdefence in the world, the russians claims with their S-400/500 series,STEALTH DOESNT EXIST!...i'wld like to see the S-400 square up against US stealth aircraft..

Why should the US be worried by Russia's Sale of its air defense system??

Washington has no worries,Russia can decide to sell one million units to North Korea,US is not bothered. The only protest by Washington would be that Russia should be strategic in it's buyers and not just anyone with money. Some countries need to be watched closely should they possess the S-400 not because they are a threat to the US but because they can use the weapon to incite crisis within their regions,e.g N.Korea and S.Korea,Iran and Israel,Pakistan and India.

The acquisition of the S-400 by some of these new buyers is mainly as an arsenal for war and not territorial protection of their airspace and border.

lol.. For a 110% defensive combat regiment ?? (arsenal for war ?? Is that what CNN propagated ??) Think again before you type please. Nairalander please beware of trolls. For any advance defensive batteries like S-300, S-400 , S-500 and patriot, the owner need to feel more secured while the attacker will have to think twice. Again the western media and trolls will change the idea the opposite way.

They never really like the idea of an idependent state taking an indepent foreign policy that run counter to their own foreign hegemonic interest. Honestly, the bullies need to think twice before attacking un-armed countries like Libya, Iraq, Afhgan...... That is what the batteries are meant for.. For protection not an offensive weapon. It's defensive against hostile fighter jets like 5th gen.fighter jets or missiles to any sovereign Nation.

Yeah. You see...i am not surprised or doubt anything about Russia when it comes to missile or rocket technology. The records are there to see. The S-400 is presently the talk of town, even among western circles. They still don't have answers for the S-300, and one can only wonder ''whats up'' about the S-500.. Stealth technology is beutiful, but its hardly a game changer, and when you consider that the S-400 is design to also defend against stealth, it further lend credence to the scary nature/possibility of the S-500 in relation to its capabilities.

He is correct! The current world order based on technology, is fast becoming one where you can conveniently lunch full scale war from the comfort of its borders without much ado about many military bases or allies. And some nations like the Russians are already thinking in this direction. Military bases have their advantages, but with the contineous growing prowess of modern technology, having multiple bases as such, may make little or no difference at all.

Looking at the bigger picture, you will find that the US is on its way down as a global power and is on the throes of death.
The Chinese Dong Feng 21 makes all US aircraft carriers sitting ducks to be picked out one after the other.

Whoever wants to lead the world in trade and militarily must be able to control and integrate the world's Island, according to Sir Hayford Mackinder.
China, India,Iran,Pakistan, the Stan nations and Russia are working hard towards this goal, starting with the old silk road. The US and the west understands this and seeks to stall the move by using terrorism as a tool.
These nations can only be empowered by having a formidable air defence systems so as to stem the threat from the empire of chaos.
Iran to get her package delivered very soon.

As impressive as these ADS are, I think the world need to fear more the rail guns that will enter US Navy services before end of this decade. No ADS can intercept it at speed over Mach 7. Any ADS radar that lights up to scan the air simply makes itself next target of next rail gun strike. Even the most sophisticated GBADS will be knocked out in less than 30 mins of assaults from rail guns. If you detect it coming in, you are dead. If you fail to detect it, you are dead.
