It's being a while that individuals and corporate bodies have been advertising on Nairaland. However, I have not seen any thread that specifically creates feedback on the effectiveness of Ads placed on Nairaland thereby creating a vacuum in knowledge. This thread is opened to fill this knowledge gap. Have you ever advertised on Nairaland? What product or service did you advertise? From your experience, how will you rate effectiveness of the adverts in terms of increase in unique visitors? Please, let's share experience. You may want to ask, I have not advertised on Nairaland but considering doing so soon.

I have been able to map out Some stuffs:

- The billing system is very poor.. For example, you are advertising on a section that costs N10,000/week even if no one visits that section or even those who visit have no interest in whatever you sell, perhaps they visited due to a front page topic, you get charged! I should pay as people click my ad! Not as they view! What if the person viewing has no interest?

- Nairaland does not target Interest: Nairaland needs to upgrade its technology to 21st Century. Trust me currently its not! Adverts should target people's interest(Check Facebook for instance). For example, i am advertising a financial service in romance section, i am still supposed to get visitors I.e Romance users who have interests in financial stuff should see the advert while others dont! Not just showing everybody even those who are not interested and charging me!

- High Bounce Rate: Most of the visitors who click, simply return back to Nairaland after clicking.

I am not saying you should not use Nairaland, but i am only giving you what you asked for!

IMO, Nairaland should upgrade as many are just throwing money away.

Good. Many more advertisers' contributions are needed. This thread may look as if it aims at antagonizing this forum but it could be an excellent means of getting feedback on challenges facing advertisers on the forum. Feedback expressed without reservation could help in devising workable solutions to the problems.

@Seun or Mod, this thread could be an excellent way of providing clarification on issues raised or getting valuable insights on what advertisers actually think about your ads. I suggest that this thread be moved to Frontpage for better coverage or participation.

Feedback needed please. Moderator please for security reasons, create a fake account and clerify us about the billing system.

Seun used wisdom in that his thread, he didn't answer how much per click. He just used English there and locked the thread. Good feedback will surely increase advertisers....

Am seeing too much ad slots empty.

Thanks, please don't ban me I just aired my view!
