Could anyone help me get a recipe for that very particularly specially unique tasting MAMA-PUT stew we usually eat at the mama-put restaurants back home? I really miss that and would like to know how to make it exactly the way they taste. I am pretty good at making my ow home made stew, but I still constantly try new things out to see if I could get that same taste the 'mamaput' one has; please help!
thank you.

@ ifyalways, ha!!!

I think to get mama put stew, don't blend the tomatoes and pepper to a smooth paste it should be rough. This is best achieved using a manual vegetable grater. Fry the stew, preferably with smoked fish and spices that u like(you can use something else,i'm a sucker for smoked fish.) Also use iru (locust beans) while frying the stew and let the stew be thick not watery. The iru gives it that wonderful mama put aroma. Try it and see.

some of them may be using the original square maggi cube which is no longer fashionable, though I could be wrong.

It could also be the aji no moto. grin The thing is a health hazard but very tasty and economical.
