Am a Geology student but I just rounded up my IT wit a survey company where I learnt how to use autocard to draw maps and plot plans and SURFER to make 3D maps and contours, CVS to transfer coordinates to surfer. Not forgetting dat I am now granded in survey dat I personally have handled large jobs for my company....

You job experience may be more specific to the position whereas the other's MSc may be unrelated with less or not-so-related job experience. Your post is incomplete and may deceive people to think that a 3rd class isn't so bad, maybe not then when you got it but now, trust me there's almost no entry level position in a multinational company that won't filter third class graduates, especially without job experience. You are fortunate to have entered just before the market saturation of qualified and overqualified graduates. Grace you call it - whatever works for you. Congratulation btw

I've a third class too, and I worked in a company where I was earning 322k monthly for 8 years. Now I got a new one paying me 420k. I do have a cert in Cloud Computing from Harvard though, but my B.Sc is still 3rd class and I don't have a Master's.

That you got the job is a means to an end, not the other way round. Inasmuch as I felicitate with you (it's not easy getting a good job these days), you should not think you've arrived; there are higher positions than where you are now. Strive for improvement in everything you do; never do it for someone to notice you, do it because you want to and you feel it's the right thing to do. Obviously the company is not an indigenous one, else they wouldn't even look at your skill set and/or your CV once they see 3rd class. That's the difference between here and there. The M.Sc person may not have the skill set you have, which may be what the company needs, and that my friend is what got you the job.

i went for an interview, in my category, we were only two that were shortlisted for the post, in a multinational firm, as assistant General Manager. it happened that the result came out and was the most qualified. no human connection, but grace. thank God for 2015, i eventually laughed in the end. God did it for me, and he will do yours IJN.

need i say that my fellow has MSc. while i had BSc. with THIRD CLASS. greatest miracle, joy overflow

You bragged! Seriously, you bragged, you expressly implied that you were chosen ahead of your competitor despite his/her MSc. Don't forget you failed to mention that you have being furthering your education as well in your specific industry by acquiring certifications in various computer software.

What happened to:

Simple! Sans reference to the other guy.

You can as well go ahead and educate other 3rd class graduates on how to make themselves more noticeable in the job market.

It's about $10,000 tuition for Professional Grade Certification and classes are usually in Fall.

To get a good head start, go to youtube and watch all the CloudRanger videos on Azure, also the "Eli The Computer Guy" videos on Cloud Computing.

I'm versed in OpenStack on Linux, PaaS and MbaaS whether on AWS, Google or Azure. Where I currently work we deployed a Microsoft Azure hybrid.
