On 31st of December 2015, the state appeal court declared Mr Otti winner of the last gubernatorial election which means Gov. Ikpeazu is meant to vacate office immediately.

Today, a large group of people ranging from youths, market women & men stormed various streets in Aba with placards, tyres, sticks & other dangerous tools. The aim of such protest is to show solidarity & support to the incumbent governor - Mr Okezie Ikpeazu, who on hearing the verdict of the state's appeal court decided to challenge the ruling by taking the case to the Supreme court.
