THE 6TH EDITION OF OGWASHI-UKU CARNIVAL


It was glamorous, fun, Jam parked at the 6th edition of Delta state dance carnival, Ogwashi-Uku , it was over flowing with lots of exciting activities, it was the celebration of love, friendship and brotherhood it was a moment of harmony for progress to be achieved, it exceeded the position apportioned it as one of the best 10 events to attend in Nigeria, in December, it was truly bombastic
In the early months of 2015

The event started pretty well on time with all the dancing troupes present and
ready to show case their talent and represent their various communities, the dance groups comprised of :

12 Anioma dance troupes
Urhobo
Ijaw
Itsekiri
Ihaila warrior dancers


The carnival arena was colorfully decked in the traditional Christmas colors of red, green and gold, well designed by Ogechi Isiekwena , an indigene from Ogwashi-Uku who has been decorating the event for 3yrs free of charge, the DJ’s music blaring across the field down to the homes of nearby residents was indeed helpful in reminding the carnival participants of what was to come later in the day
Three Diana vehicles were decorated by Ogechi to add some pecks during the carnival procession
The presence of the Biggest Santa clause ever made by man also took centre stage and added fun in its right as guest and fun seekers were seen taking memorable pictures beside the giant santa claus

Outside the carnival arena, stood tall the carnival banner in lemon green high up show casing the reason for the day

Inspite of our inability to stage most of the advertised supporting events
to the carnival, our 6th edition tells its story excellently for historians delight
We look forward to a promising 2016
God bless you all who prayed and wished us well in 2015, we are grateful

Helping to Promote the image of Ogwashi-Uku through culture and dance,

as well as contributing to social unity in the community
