According to Reports, the Lagos State Government says it is planning a 24-hour operation for the Bus Rapid Transit scheme in the state. The state government stated that it was the wish of the present administration that BRT buses work at night.

It added that it was intensifying efforts on the state’s Light Up Lagos project, to provide functioning streetlights in every nook and cranny of the state.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Wale Oluwo, on Wednesday in Ikeja said the efforts being made by the government to make BRT buses operate for 24 hours and provide streetlights everywhere in the state were in line with the campaign promise of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Oluwo said, “Arrangement has been concluded on having BRT buses to work at night once the Light Up Lagos project is completed.

“The intention of government is to light up all highways in the state. In fact, the 114 road reconstruction in the 57 councils in the state will be with walkways and streetlights.

While he's promising more street lights let him have it at the back of his mind that alot of the ones already installed have not been working for a while now e.g the ones along Itire road has been off for almost 2 weeks,the longest its been in over 5years.

OK hope you know having street lights is not the guarantee for security
