The compound of Vanessa and Arthur smelled so green and natural. Vanessa was a lover of the juicy Cherry fruit whilst Arthur's favourite was the big Banana. They had so much in common, after being Orphans, losing their Parents to a very fatal Automobile wreckage.


It was heartbreaking and also life changing for them both. Their feelings were ambivalent since the beginning, making them the strangest couple that ever lived on Earth.



Vanessa entertained her Best friend and third Cousin, Miriam, who just got into Town, after disappearing for so long with her British yet Jamaican native Husband. She was expecting what seems to be another Child, since she couldn't stop sharing unavoidable information about the pains and joys of Motherhood.



Unfortunately, Vanessa and Arthur weren't able to bear Children. Vanessa suggested they adopted a few but Arthur dissuaded her instead. They lived on without anyone to carry the legacy of the two Cousins getting married and trying to keep a happy home.



"I can't believe you actually got married to Cousin Arthur. That is a very brave thing to do, I must confess!" Confessed Miriam, as she sipped her Juice slowly and delicately.
"I know, Miriam. We were so much in love when we took that step. Grandmother and others tried to drift the idea out of our minds but we simply ignored all of the negativity and went on with the official plan" Vanessa bragged, the complacent look on her shrivelled face visible. She took a sip from her own Juice and had a brief yet detailed Reverie.



Bananas had always been Arthur's favourite. Back at Granny's house, Granny would always get him Bananas from a mysterious Tree, a mystery to all how Granny was always able to get to the top of it. While the other meddling Children around the peaceful house would tease him and call him a Human Monkey. None of that ever offended Arthur, because they were truly his favourite.



Vanessa was a lover of Cherries and she would eat them almost all day long. No one teased her about her obsession with the juicy and tasty fruit but Arthur was always a victim. She miraculously stood up for him one day and that was when the young love between them both began brewing.



Arthur dreamt of flying, with the best produced Aircraft in history. While Vanessa dreamt of owning a small Bookstore at her home, while her Husband and Children would sit all around her table and read a new book every new day. They shared their dreams and aspirations and kissed to keep their promises.



Vanessa and Arthur went on kissing and kissing to almost anything and everything. They had nothing to be thankful for as unfortunate Orphans but they were absolutely happy and crazy in love with each other. Soon, Arthur began working in a small Bookstore outside the City and he often got fancy Books for his Love, that didn't cost so much.



Vanessa decided to make it to advanced College and keep up with her dreams of being an avid writer.



Their dreams and aspirations grew and they were making it on their own. That was when Arthur popped the big question and asked for his one and only Second Cousin to be his wife forever. Vanessa thought forever was too long but she said Yes to his proposal regardless.



They moved to a small House in the outskirts of the City, where no one would see and/or criticise their union. They were so happy and full of fervour to begin a Family.



Vanessa and Arthur tried every night to make a Soul, which would inherit Vanessa's dainty figure and enchanting personality and Arthur's perfect face and his kissable lips. Arthur would put his Banana fruit into Vanessa's Cherry every night but there wasn't a single Soul made.



It was becoming dull and discouraging for the Couple. But their hopes were still on point, their dreams and goals still at heart and that was when Arthur was summoned to fly an Aircraft for the very first time. He was hired to be the one of the 21 Pilots of a big Aviation Company in another City and he didn't dare decline.



Vanessa was left alone to plant Cherry and Banana fruits in their too big of a garden and years later, there came two blossoming Trees, with many fruits ripe and sweet to eat.



Vanessa eventually got her wish and owned a Bookstore at their home but she would imagine her Husband and many Children being all by her side, reading and having a conversation or two about their favourite Books and Authors.




Arthur would come home to Vanessa once in three months and sometimes, once in six months. Even for a whole year, they wouldn't see each other at all but would communicate through loveless love letters.








A while later when Miriam was out of the House, leaving Vanessa and her shrivelled self to busy around and read a few Books, with a cup of Coffee in her hands when she got a very urgent Message from a young man in the same Company Arthur worked.




For she hadn't laid her old eyes on her husband for so long and when the news of his sudden demise, after a fatal Aircraft wreck reached her ears, she simply read all of her favourite Chapters in all of her favourite Books, before making another cup of Coffee and listening to the noisy yet soul calming Banana and Cherry rusted and dry leaves drop from their Trees.
