A man is suspected of killing two students at the State University of New York in Geneseo before taking his own life. Police in Geneseo said the bodies of three people were found in a home off-campus early Sunday morning.

At a press conference on Monday, police said the deaths were related to a break-up between two of the victims, WHAM reports. The victims were identified as Kelsey Annese, 21, of Webster, N.Y., Matthew Hutchinson, 24, of Vancouver, British Columbia and Colin Kingston, 24, of Geneseo. Police say Kingston was the killer.

Annese and Hutchinson were both current students. Kingston had previously attended the college but had not registered for the spring semester, according to the university.

Police said Kingston and Annese had recently broken up after a three-year relationship. After investigating, police found Kingston purchased a large knife Saturday night, which he brought to the house on Wadsworth Street Sunday morning where Annese lived. He is believed to have gone upstairs, where he killed both Annese and Hutchinson before taking his own life, police said.
There were no prior reports of a troubled relationship between Kingston and Annese, according to police.

Annese was a member of the women’s basketball team at Geneseo. She was a senior studying education and Spanish with a minor in psychology. Hutchinson, a senior at the college, was a member of the school’s hockey team and a member of the Geneseo .......
