The Igbo people are enterprising, hardworking and unrelenting... as in, real sharp guys! A trait which has led them to spread across Nigeria and even beyond her shores.

For every enterprising Igbo man/woman, Nigeria has provided a market, and a platform to succeed. There's no nook or cranny in Nigeria that you'll go to and not find an Igbo person doing business or other ventures. For every good produced, there are over 170m people to market it to.

Non Igbo States Have Helped More in the Development of Igbo Talents Than Have Igbo States. The best and most successful Igbo people were born and raised outside of Igbo land. The environment you grow in goes a long way in influencing what you may become 90% of the time. Nigeria has been accommodating and has horned the skills of many Igbo athletes, sharpened academicians, and has given them the room to blossom!
You may argue that they made it simply because they are Igbo blooded, but I ask, why aren't the Azikiwes, the Ojukwus, Mikels, the NOI, P squares, to list but a few coming out straight from Anambra in droves? Or aren't they Igbo blooded as well? Truth is, Lagos in particular has done more for the Igbos than has all SE states put together.

First and foremost I will assume that you have acquired some form of education or maybe still in the process.

I am only going to comment on this post for the purpose of the young ones who are going to read it, so they can start at a very young age to learn how to think and make logical argument. It seems most Nigerian youth are bad at engaging in critical thinking.

That aside, firstly I am going to take your bait and play 'sand-sand' play with you :what do you mean by successful? Because being successful connotes different things to different people. Going by the names you picked out, for every P-Square or Mikel that grew up outside the East there are Flavor, Genevieve, Phyno etc that grew up in the East. For every Ojukwu and Zik there are notable men there are people like Soludo etc that grew up in the East.

Talking about environment, if you have ever step a foot outside where you have been holed-in all your life, you would know that there is no better place to raise kids and imbibe the spirit to conquer and take the world by the balls than in the East. Those that came to Lagos to hustle already had their instinct nurtured and cultured back home from the streets of the East. Forget the noise in Lagos go down there and try out your survival instincts, compete with youths your age on daily survival skills and you will come back to testify (na then you go know say 3 into 3 places na 9).

On a serious note before you come up with a conjuncture like this do a little finding (stop being lazy your mb is not only to watch porn grin) and always top such write up with concrete data. Concrete data and verifiable facts helps a lot.

This part is for all Yoruba youths out there. I am advising most Yoruba youths of this generation not to be like the past generations. You people should leave your 'hole' for once, travel around Nigeria. Go to the North, go to the East, go to South-South. Spend weeks or even months living there and you will get to learn that there is a world outside Lagos. Nigeria does not start and end in Lagos. Being educated does not clean up ignorance, you can be educated and still ignorant. From my experience when it comes to knowing Nigeria and Nigerians, I think the Yorubas are the most ignorant just as most Americans are about the world outside the US of A. Some of you many find it insulting but truth as to be told. The tides are changing it is time you leave your comfort zone, go out learn more about Nigeria and Nigerians, and your approach to issues will never be the same. You can ask those that happened to leave the SW for the first time during their NYSC year how ignorant they realized they were? London is never Nigeria and will not make up for your ignorance about your own country and its people. Stop using Lagos as a gauging scale Lagos is not and will never be the ideal environment to learn about the people of Nigeria.

It is becoming increasingly ridiculous the manner the 'BFR is dead' chanters put forward a thousand and one reasons why the quest for nationhood will not succeed.

You boast that Igbo people have no crude oil. You assure yourselves that Igbo people are mainly concerned about South-south oil even when there are indigenous Igbos in South-south. You even console yourselves that Igbo people do not add value to the system. You spread evil news. You attempt threats - of war, starvation, properties confiscation, forfeiture of resident permit. You have concluded that Igbo people cannot survive as a nation.

With all the many negative wishes you have got you are still not satisfied that your prophecies are enough deterrent to the emergence of a new nation.

Every day the cycle of evil tidyings is repeated in different ways in the media to give yourselves a false sense of fulfilment that you're making progress to stop the emergence of BFR. But then frustration and its resultant consequences are waiting down the line just because you have wished to dictate how another people live when it is evident that you are barely existing.

Moshood Adisi Olabisi Ajala. He was a renowned globe-trotter, socialite and free lance journalist, who was described in many Nigerian songs as Africa's greatest traveler. He went to the US at age 18 where he started his travels in the 50s. He supposedly went to 87 countries in six years . Hear Ajala in his own words after the cut.

Excerpt from his book
From America I went to Canada (where I spent a couple of years) and later on to Britain. In 1957 I began my one-man Odyssey around the world. It is still going on as I write this in Sydney, Australia. In nearly all the eighty-seven countries I have visited during the course of my six-year jaunt around the world (ranging from North America to Eastern and Western Europe, through Africa and Asia and as far east as Korea, Indonesia and Australia), I have observed many different political regimes both in democratic and communist states. I have met with brutality and racial intolerance. I have felt the bitter evil of man's inhumanity to man, and have marbled at the goodness of the humane-hearted

This trash you put up here no concern millions of Igbos born and bred in Igboland and who have lived all their lives in igboland.

The only thing they see around them is bad federal roads and lack of federal presence in terms of infrastructural development of igboland as its done in other regions.

Second river niger bridge is a big deal for FG because it is in Igboland.

Human being and animals generally move towards prosperity which is why you alluded that Americans hardly move out of their country whereas Syrians are all over the place.

While your people were still feasting on other human, Yorubas have been travelling overseas. for over a century, there have been well documented Yoruba travels. There are 5 generations of Yoruba people in places as far as UK because of the economic prosperity of the United Kingdom

Why would Yorubas move to places where the natives are scampering to leave? You see people born in a place trying their best to leave the place so why would any sane person go there? How many Americans do you see rushing into Syria if they arent missionaries or Journalists

In Nigeria, Yorubaland is the most prosperous and Yorubas thereby stay back in their own towns unlike in your side where you cannot make it until you escape from the land

"I would take you to Lagos" is the most potent line to toast any babe in your enclave and it has been so for almost a century.

Yoruba youths know where to travel to if they want to explore only those that want to be served as Nkwobi would travel to places unfriendly to strangers

Thank you sir.

OP your basic mistake if not intended is to assume that those Igbo guys you mentioned got what they didn't deserve.
No state or federal government policy has ever been created to "give" Igbo people anything because they are igbos. This also applies to every other ethnicities in the country.

u see y Igbo's can never leave with u people, it is bcuz u people think achievement is when few people succeed, y Igbos think achievement is when the whole community succeed, Igbo dream bigger, so they can't leave with a dream killer, Igbos aim higher they can't stay with a mediocre, we have not achieved anything as far as I am concerned, during the war igbo scientist produced ammoured car, bombs and other things without foreign help imagine where we would have been if we had actualized bia-fra then.

**grins** OP Igbos toil for this hell hole called nigeria and nigeria has never been given back in return.
Which group goes to hausaland, develop and possibly get killed by the hausa muslims during their riots of intolerance? Igbo!

Which group projects nigeria positively through nollywood? Igbos!

Which group gives it all for the country during sporting competitions? Igbo!

Infact 1994 Super eagles team was made up of 85% Igbo. The '98 olympic champions were made up of 95% Igbo. Pundits called the 2013 victorious Super eagles at Afcon Biafran eagles.

Who builds in other regions believing that nigeria will be one forever? Igbo!

What do they get in return? Killings and taunts from cruel and ungrateful nigerians e.g 'I will never vote an Eastern/Igbo president.'

The Biafran truth don capture your nigeria, now you are running helter-skelter trying to salvage the carcass of what's left of nigeria. **grins**

I can see you have problem with comprehension and like most people have pointed out insulting people is something you people are good at and you will be first to shout that Yorubas respect people a lot and other tribes are rude.

That aside if you had taken your time to digest and understood what I wrote you would have seen where I pointed out that traveling to London will not take the place of traveling within your country and getting to your country better. You are no different than a typical American, who can read and write but ignorant about his own immediate environment. Of what use is knowing the UK like the back of your palm when you have no freaking idea about your country? I once witness a very sad and shameful conversation between me, a guy that has spent all is life in Lagos and a fellow Greek student. This Nigeria guy couldn't even say any meaningful thing about other parts of Nigeria other than what he saw on tv or heard people say. I was embarrassed on his behalf. When it was time to talk about Greece the Greek student spoke with authority about the different regions in her country and other several cultures and other people of Europe because she has been there and understand them and she would talk about them in comparison to popular believes.

See kido I understand the normal dick measuring contest that has been going on here. But I think your education will be lacking if you don't have first hand info about other parts of Nigeria other than what you hear or see on movies.

It is natural for the Igbos and most Nigerians to head to Lagos for economic reasons, just as most Americans are heading to New York, most people heading to UK, Brussels, Rotterdam, Antwerp. That is if you would look beyond your bigotry to see that.

When I suggest you travel, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to go and look for ewedu soup or goat head but to learn about the place interact with the locals and learn new things ( talking about Nkwubi, are you aware that when it comes to food the east has more varieties than you can find in the west?). You asked why would Yorubas go to where people are leaving when they know a better place to go to? Have you ever do a search to find out the number of Europeans coming to Africa every summer just to see and learn about Africa and her people? Or you think that Africa must be better than Europe that is why they are flooding here during summer? It is called curing ignorance!

To be honest I shouldn't have responded to you but I believe you are still a young man who has a lot to learn and I think the best I can do is engage you a little and hope I stimulate you intellectual enough to learn, to take criticism well and also as time goes on to learn how to craft a well logical argument. Thousands of Igbos slaughtered in 1945

Thousands more slaughtered in 1953

Over 50,000 slaughtered in 1966 alone

Over 3 million killed 1967 to 1970

And the list goes on. By the time you read this more would have died. The situation is getting out of hand and the Nigerian government has shown that it lacks the will and the capability to protect the life and property of Igbos in Nigeria.

Tell me.. How would a nation with so much hatred and blood shed exist?

There you have another pathetic assumption. The assumption that yorubas do not go out of the zone when in actual fact, the seeds of omoluabis is far more well spread than any ethic nation on this planet.
When exactly did igbos discover that there is a huge world beyond their shores?
From the born omoluabi who is indistinguishable from an hausa in sokoto, that the only cue was his ancient oyo dialect to the Rapper in Russia who front as an American.
Whereas you guys refuse to integrate, omoluabis whereever they are, lie low and learn the ways of their host. Most often that not, the giveaway is usually when they gather in groups and become noisy.
A typical omoluabi instinctively and carefully measures his environment, calculates the risk associated with that environment and takes actions based on that. That environment includes the people associated with it.
Tens of thousands go on NYSC every year. Many spend that year moving about those states chasing skirts around those states.
The emerging professional middle class go on post graduate studies wherever they can find them, many go on vacations to exotic places.
I remember the conference call last year organised by various omoluabi group last year.
This was at the height of Jonathan's abuse of power.
Detaining opposition member
Stopping planes from landing
Rigging elections in ekiti

The Jonathan and his goons were carefully measured and the decision based on the careful study was That,It was good that there were omoluabis in both political party despite the obvious threat of Jonathan to the homeland and his mission of trying to install thug in positions of power.
What about all those bus drivers who traverse the length and breadth of the country on a daily basis and who maintain homes in more than 1 place?
Are we talking about the tomatoes seller who makes regular weekly trips to kano?
A study on crime was run about 2 years ago and the outcome was that,
Omoluabis prefer to be robbed by yoruba armed robbers than anyone else. Just based on the sheer amount of violence typically used.
That says a lot without even scientifically breaking down the study.
We have a perfect measure of every technic group in Nigeria. Every single one. for convenience sakes, we lump people from contiguous location together does not mean we have no clue about those places.

When you kill other peoples leaders, you dont tell them how to respond. They can choose to kill 2, 2million or 20million. When Osama killed Americans, Did Afghans tell America the number of people to kill in return?

Only one person ArchDuke Ferdinand was killed in Sarajevo and millions were killed in return during the 1st world war

So what is the point of one Nigeria then since it leads to millions of deaths?

You sir can shove your advice where the sun dont shine.

Bros you dey vex ooo.

I really do not know how Jonathan got into this conversation and I am not going to discuss that.

Secondly I think it will be helpful if you list a point and try to stick to it. I will try as much as I can to respond to what I think you are trying to say (correct me if I am wrong).

Having your ancestor outside the shores of Yoruba land eons of life ago is different from having today's Yoruba youth learning about other ethnic groups rather than basing their knowledge about others on hear say and what they saw on movies.

Having thousands of Yoruba youths going on NYSC every year gives credence to my earlier post that to majority of them that was the first time they are stepping their toes out of SW and it usually leaves them in awe on how ignorant they had been. I repeat being educated does not cure one of ignorance. Learning to unlearn cures one of ignorance.

If I understand correctly about market women going to Kano to buy tomatoes, mind you there are a lot of other traders from the SE and other regions who also floods the interior part of other regions to transact business ( like I said you just assume that only Yoruba traders go to Kano to buy tomatoes simply because you stay in the West, you see what not going out could do to one's reasoning).

About making conclusion about a group of people based on what you hear or watch on movies makes nonsense of your entire education. Have you heard of stereotype? I am sure you have but right now your thin skin to criticism won't allow you think it through.

Well my dear, it is not about Yoruba and Igbo or which is better, it is about telling everyone to stop stereotyping and start making objective assertions of others by traveling interacting and curing oneself of ignorance. You can take it you can leave it, it is your choice!
