With the current campaign against corruption going on at a very high tempo, one is inclined to think that at the end of the day corrupt public officials would be convicted if found guilty. However, numbers don't lie.. The chart below shows that very few public officials has ever been convicted by Nigeria's courts in cases involving EFCC. Many of the suspects are taking advantage of a weak judiciary with some cases going on for several years. Even the few convictions come with "laughable" verdicts.
