Who knows any other easier and cheaper means of staking cucumber apart from this method?

From my side, you'll have to wait a couple of weeks. Don't know if my new method will be any good but we'll see.

Hello everyone,

I recently began a sack farming project to see how possible it was to grow cucumbers in sacks. I'll like to announce that it was a successful endeavour. For those who don't have land to farm on, you all have no more excuse. It's as easy as just putting soil (which is free) in a sack and that's it. I thank all the agric, vegetables and cucumber lords of this forum. Una don try and una still dey try. Please enjoy the pics...they speak better.

Please feel free to ask any questions... grin

1. Yes. Watermelon works in sacks but can't be stringed due to its weight but you can try.
2. Snakes generally avoid humans (unless its them send am). Apply herbicides to your surroundings to reduce where they can hide and try googling to find other ways.

If you have crops like rosemary, fennel, parsley etc growing in your garden it will discourage snails from coming around.

Nice one there, reminded me of a Kenyan farmer shown on TV months back. He is into Polythene Bag Farming to grow his tomatoes.

Yesterday was my third harvest. I've broken even and made profit. I got 3 bags from 3 rows (murano) but someone on nairaland bought it even before I harvested.

@lalasticlala thank you very much. That frontpage wey you put me don open door to many possibilities (I no go mind if you father Christmas me again grin). Coming up will be lessons learned and recommendations based on my experiences with sack farming.

P.S. Each bag was 3k. Initial investment #6900. Second harvest #5000 and #9000 for the third. That's a total of #14000. Profit of #7100 within 68 days and still counting. The biggest cucumber was more than 12 inches

Kudos to you. I must confess you are doing something great and am sure this is just the beginning of great things that are about to happen to you.
I am really interested in starting something like this, I have a plot of land I can use. Please will be available to put me thru via NL or whatsapp?

What is the assurance that these polypots will support the crops considering the size of the polypots?

It is pharmaceuticals. Buying maybe expensive. Try finding the scraps....without the needles though.
