Up to 10 people were killed and about 28 injured when
a suicide bomber blew himself up Friday at a busy
market in a town in northern Nigeria where the
Boko Haram group has undertaken an insurgency,
residents and a Red Cross official said.
Boko Haram has been waging its almost seven-year
campaign to build an Islamic state in Nigeria's remote
north. Thousands have been killed, and more than 2
million displaced by the campaign.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for
Friday's attack at a market in Gombe in Adawama state,
but it bore the hallmarks of Boko Haram, which has
been using suicide bombers since the Nigerian army,
helped by neighboring countries Chad and Cameroon,
expelled the group from territory it had captured
previously.
A Red Cross official said the attack by a male suicide
bomber killed eight and wounded 28. Two traders at
the market put the death toll at 10, while a police
spokesman said four had been killed and 17 wounded.
Gombe lies near the border of the remote northeastern
Borno state, where the insurgency started. . america.aljazeera.com/articles/2016/1/29/deadly-suicide-attack-at-busy-market-in-nigeria-blamed-on-boko-haram.html. www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/01/suicide-bomber-hits-market-place-nigeria-northeast-160129150834246.html

Yet our government say "technically, we have defeated boko haram" let's stop fooling ourselves in this country, boko haram is still very formidable in the North East. Forget the whole propaganda by the APC federal government Borno, yobe and parts of Adamama are still not safe, IDPs have refused to return to their towns and villages for fear of terrorist attack yet some people are claiming "Technical victory"

In Liar Muhammed 's voice: it's their normal of fighting. They can't come out in open combat.

In T. Y. Buratai's voice: we are on top of the situation.

In PMB's voice :we have tactically won the war.
