Blues supporters showered the Nigerian starlet with praise as he single-handedly helped City see off Aston Villa 4-0 in the FA Cup fourth round

Manchester City supporters have heaped praise on man of the moment Kelechi Iheanacho following his hat-trick in the 4-0 FA Cup win at Aston Villa - and believe the 19-year-old has already proven he is better than Manchester United striker Anthony Martial.

Iheanacho was the undisputed star of the show for City in their fourth-round thrashing of Premier League basement boys Iheanacho as he struck a first-half brace, including one from the penalty spot, before completing his treble and teeing up Raheem Sterling in the second half.

His performance had City fans purring, with many hailing the Nigerian as an emerging world-class talent and pleading with Blues boss Manuel Pellegrini to give him more game time as he struck his sixth, seventh and eighth goals for the club from just five starts.

In netting a treble, Iheanacho also became the youngster scorer of a hat-trick for City since Joe Hayes back in 1955 as he showcased his potential in a dazzling display.

And it has led City fans to claim that he has already outshone United's £36m summer signing Martial, who himself impressed during the Reds' equally comfortable fourth-round win at Derby County last night.

The hat-trick took his overall tally for City in 2015/16 to eight goals in 18 games, while Martial has notched eight from 28 games across all competitions so far this term.

See some of the best reaction on social media from City fans as they hailed Iheanacho's impact.

I just watched the highlight now.
I was surprised when I checked livescore and saw he also took a penalty, cos I was wondering if they have no senior players there but I watched the highlight now and was surprised to see him drag the penalty with Sterlin, then Zabaleta came and ordered sterlin to stay off the penalty. That action means a lot which could mean Iheanacho has a strong backup from the senior players or the senior players don't like Sterlin.
