Ha ha ha. "Special fuel"? On and electric motor 'engine'? Yes, he tried. At least, in assembling the purchased toy. The only innovation there is the green white green painting.

I wont insult you, but I hope you realise that it is far easier to build a large scale pilot controlled airplane, than an unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)? The UAV, apart from contending with the mechanics of flight, also has to embody robotics, and radio remote controlled electronics.

Think. 1903. That was when the wright brothers flew the first plane. That is, using technology of 112 years ago. UAV drones just became popular this 21st century, mainly because of the advancement in computer technology.

Its highly embarrassing that we cant even replicate something the white man did more than a hundred years ago. Instead we resort to cheap sensationalism on our gullible selves, patting ourselves on the back FOR A JOB NOT DONE!
it's not about we as a country, it's about an individual in a remote community somewhere in the Niger Delta Region, without proper former education coming up wt some technological feat which graduates of Engineering sciences could not achieve or have not achieved in all their projects. we should think of ways to advance his knowledge than criticise it. there is always more to add in science. that the wright brothers flew plane in 1903 should not stop us from doing our part as a nation in 2016 for advancement. hateful criticism can only retrogress a nation. if it was in a developed country, that young man will be enrolled into a technical school where he can contribute and learn more. but here we are, unprogressing selfish corrupt country where the fate of a graduate is bleak let alone those without proper education. #GodHelpUs

Dem born una to come dey practice una arguing skills for Nl,the guy said he is a Phd mechanical which i believe is Mechanical engineering and you are saying mechanics can't you see that there is a wide difference between your statement and his??

When you have all the answers then let me know grin

In the mean time you can continue to jerk off to your catalogue ordered aeronautic wonder cheesy

Of course I have no cause to reinvent the wheel grin we all should be objective enough to understand that he did not 'manufacture' those parts locally just assembled them which is what I'm trying to make all understand here and on other similar threads.

I give it to the guy though for understanding the mechanics and terminology involved as well as having a good grasp of flying it but he much give credit to where it is due.

BTW what special fuel did he formulate even boasting of not suffering fuel scarcity in whatever location he finds himself.... Is he indicting himself of being part of vandals? #Justsaying undecided

Thank you for this jaaaare! Before I'm crucified for this alone grin

People just don't understand that these things are achievable by just watching YouTube videos and getting the parts online or locally sef.

Is the so-called guy also the manufacturer of the coiled rubber hose he's using? Or the radio he's using to control the plane?

So because of this, FG should go build a very big hanger so he can start building passenger planes or drones?

High time we get a law regulating the use of unlicensed drones either for leisure or otherwise in this country.

I foresee a time when this machines would be armed with dangerous weapons to cause havoc. Who knows the BH bomb specialist may have started in like manners too ignored by Government (regulatory purpose tho) but embraced by the chalaterns grin

EgunMogaji:

You're studying mechanics and you don't realize that this guy is a complete fraud?

The plane is a Cessna 172 trainer remote control plane. $50 online.

Special fuel? You can learn how to mix fuel on YouTube.

you are very stupid n i pray that for not appreciating his work, you will never experience good things in life. do think d west just wake up one n become what u nw call heaven on earth? you are SO narrow minded.
Guess what!, you succeeded in cursing yourself, you will not fail to see the results in less than 30 days from now. What i said is not meant for simpletons like you. Going back 120 years is not the way to go, i guess the wright brothers did this that in 1890s & 1900s, what we need are SIMPLE invention for our very LOCAL/PECULIAR needs, gradually we scale up to bigger things. We still can not make pencils in Nigeria you dunce, check the mirror you will see a shallow minded typical african who prides more with vain glorying in lieu of results. you are always quick to say if he is encouraged, that is my sort of encouragement/tough love, he should redirect his research to a different line. I will be happy to invest my life investment in a man who comes up with very effective /CHEAP paints that is mosquito repellent , or simple water purifiers that can be easily affordable by rural dwellers in Nigeria. Not a man designing jets/ aeroplanes the same way it was done in 1899 in 2016.

This is a drone which is fast gaining popularity among civilian population all over the world having first been in use by the military for espionage purposes but now being used for a whole lot of other things like delivering medicines remotely and the likes. It's a play thing in asia and europe, all you need are the right materials and a remote control,no biggie about what he just did cos you can get all the info to make one online

rubbish.

Instead of wasting time doing this, he should channel his energy doing something that the need is immediate, possibly mini drones that can be used for aerial surveilance.

From the report he has been on designing airplane since 1999, with little success,

With all respect, I think you don't know what you are saying. You did not watch it on channelstv. This young man went as far as attaching cameras for surveilance. Besides he produces (or refines) his own "aviation fuel". Watch the documentary on youtube and your mouth will be shut. It is a drone and much more. When I watched it, I wish they knew about it and the Govt was serious enough to utilise it in the then no-go-area of the sambisa forest.

He did what first class graduates and professors of science cannot do. If our govt is serious, these are the kind of people they need to make Nigeria, not certificates. I listened to the present Minister of Science and Technology (O. onu) when CHANNELSTV interviewed him in the light of what this guy did, there was nothing concrete.

I bet you, this guy will be picked up soon by serious govt of the world after channelstv has showcased him. He needs to be encouraged.

Pulesssss what the guy did was more less reassembling an RC Airplane. With guides on YouTube anybody can do same.

Why have you not "assemble" pencil from youtube and Nigeria still imports. If it is easy to assemble, we would have had assembling plants own by Nigerians all over the states for aircrafts, motors (how many?), computers (how many?), generators, etc. This is a guy I saw carving woods to build the body, and converting maybe demostic kerosene into aviation fuel!

Mind you, no single person or company manafactures everything from ground to finish..they make use of things already tested and working. Take HP/Compaq computers for example, the motherboard is never produced by HP/Compaq, mostly by Intel. Manufacturers of fans, cars, computers, planes, generators etc use electric motors produced many years ago; they do not need to re-invent electric motor for rotations again. You need to be schooled. Apologies.

sharap..... Even graduates that want to impact are not employed, I was at the registrars office in a polytechnic and an application was written by a 2nd class lower candidate to lecture they rejected her without interview stating that a 2.2 graduate can't lecture nd no office job at hand meanwhile they needed lecturers.. I designed a potable water treatment plant for my school during finals without no supervision, now am a business man running a clothing line!!! This country is Bleep*ed! " so blame graduates with caution though our system don't hlp to produce sound graduates buh we engineers are still here!!

Hope you know that Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing boss- Innocent Chukwuma did not finish his Secondary School education.

God I thank you for blessing for the SS and SE people.

Haba i can't believe Nigerians are this backwards. There is nothing original about this guy and he did not design that plane. He simply bought the parts and coupled them including the fuel. Please for more enlightenment, go on youtube and search for radio controlled planes, helicopters and boats. This guy from oghara is a typical naija 419.

to be sincere the guy really try, you can spend years studying flight but to actually build one from scratch is not an easy task...Am jide am also into fixed wing UAVs design and construction..call for yours today 08056800249
