The new tariff plan by DISCOs begins today. This billing system is supposed to be meter-based, with d fixed charges being scrapped.

Now, most consumers do not have the prepaid meters....whats d way forward??

Its just another way to extort Nigerians of their hard-earned money ..Light fluctuating and u increase d tariff. why not fix it first before increasing the tariff. I sense Scam

When GSM came we were paying N50(With current Naira valuation, it's about N130 now) per minute. But today we pay like N5 per minute. Really we should be paying N40 instead of the N22

It doesnt have to be stable, the op has raised a valid point. Where are the prepaid meters? with prepaid meters, you pay for what you get, whether stable or not.

It is a catch 22, if the tariff stays it might discourage further investment by private hands in the power sector, which will also affect power supply, so if the tariff will go up, the distribution companies must henceforth stop taking advantage of subscribers with ridiculous "overestimated" billing. With prepaid meters, i only pay for what i get, if there is zero supply in a month, i pay 0 naira.
