Update On The #Zaria_Massacre:

Yesterday [02/02/2016] members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) appeared before the Nigerian Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on the brutal #Zaria_Massacre by the Nigerian Army that occurred on 12th & 13th December, 2015, Zaria.

The Executive Secretary, National Human Right Commission, Prof. Eben Angowe, assure IMN of fair hearing over clash with Army as IMN members appear before the commission investigation. Members of IMN will continue appearing on the Commission to give evidence of what actually happened.

Some few weeks back the Nigerian Army Chief Buratai who had previously submitted a complain to the Commission that "Shiites want to assassinate him" claimed that only 7 Shiites were killed & 10 injured. But human rights groups within & outside #Nigeria gave far higher figures that is as high as more than one thousand members of IMN were killed by the Nigerian Army.

The IMN last week released the provincial #List of 705 of its members that it declared missing with their pictures. Multiple sources confirmed that the #Nigerian_Army collected all the corpes of the victims of the #Zaria_Massacre on the 14th December, 2015 from hospital mortuaries, the Zaria Husseiniyya, residence of Sheikh Zakzaky & IMN grave yard. The most important question that Nigerians should ask the Nigerian Army authorities is where are those corpses & what did they do with them?

Justice is most important in such affairs where valuable innocent lives were brutally wasted by the Nigerian Army that is constitutionally empowered to protect them. Lack of justice & fairness in the affairs of such wanton bloodletting opens the door to future crisis & disagreement. If those who killed 1000+ defenseless & unarmed Nigerians in just 2 days think they can bury the #Zaria_Massacre then they are in for a big suprise.

Those that the Nigerian Army brutally killed in the #Zaria_Massacre were also humans & they were Nigerians who have the right to life. A standard must be set to punish those Nigerian Army personnels who extrajudiary killed innocent Nigerians, such personnels have always gone unpunished in the past & that has encourage them to perpetrate more massacres.

If today the prudent Leadership of IMN called for patient & peaceful protest after the brutal Zaria massacre, it is not all sections & component of the Nigerian State that will have such restrain & patience. There those that will call for revenge & take up arms against the Nigerian State, & that will be catastrophic considering how Nigerians are suffering today due to the #BokoHaram insurgency.

So you are Zaria resident?

Are you one of those Zaria youths captured on video looting from the corpses of the killed Shiites whose bodies were piling the roadside after the killings?
