The Ogun state chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Akeem Ambali has expressed disappointment in the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola over the increase in electricity tariff.

He said it is "a disappointment and unexpected from a man of law".

Ambali who led hundreds of members of the organized labour unions on protest in Abeokuta on Monday over the new tariff declared that the NLC would deploy all legal means to reverse the tariff, which he also described as "insensitive to the present plight of ordinary Nigerians."

The labour leader wondered "why a Minister in the caliber of Mr. Fashola will not obey the law” adding “We are disappointed by his action."

He said the organized labour would continue with the protest till when ordinary Nigerian is given just, fair and appropriate electricity tariff.

The NLC chairman hinted that the leadership of the Congress is expected to meet with the government on the matter by Wednesday, "but not until we meet in Imo state tomorrow, where we are going to protest the sack of 3000 workers. After that we shall move to Abuja.”

What the government from 1999 till present date do not know is that "if you give us steady power supply we will not complain of high tariff".....

In this country, you are arrested before an investigation is carried out.
You are charged before the services are delivered to you and if services failed to come, no by refunds you.
You pay tax to build road that you will still pay to use.
You pay tax or tithe to build schools that you will still pay through your nose to train your children there.

We warned them that Fashola is an epitome of evil and unbridled looter but they said they are contented with his eloquence

What do you expect from a crook that siphoned #270 million in the name of website design??

I gave up on the country the moment those saddled with the responsibility of protecting us from the corrupt officials began clapping and cheering the thief of Fashola after saying he didnt personally sign the cheques for the website design lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Nigerians deserve whatever they get.

Th protest should have started immediately after that speech he gave @ the senate screening.

What do the NLC think they can do now ?

Too little too late.
