Which is the best way to keep learning, is it by coding html, CSS and Javascript from scratch or just using bootstrap, which is more beneficial for a newbie. I do html Javascript CSS and PHP. From scratch is too time consuming and gives me less time to focus on the back end.

I am also a newbie to web development. My mentor advised I use bootstrap simply because it reduces time. One thing still remains, it is better to understand html CSS and js as sometimes it might be necessary to change how bootstrap get some stuffs done. I love bootstrap, she does not want me to repeat my self everytime.

I typically create my own custom css "bootstrap". Not because I don't believe bootstrap is good, but because I learn more developing from scratch. My response to novices would be to feel free to use bootstrap, but also learn to develop from scratch more often than use bootstrap. If one is a novice, then it seems unlikely that one would be developing for pay and for commercial/professional-grade clients. As such, I don't see why novices should become tied down by bootstrap or any other framework for any other language so early in their programming journey.

I believe it is proper for novices to develop a fundamental understanding of what goes on underneath the hood of these framework, so as to not become dependent upon them, but to instead learn to use them as tools whenever necessary.

Personally, I enjoy programming from scratch. No matter what I'm developing or which language I'm using, paper, pencil, a relatively simple text editor (I don't use IDEs) and the interpreter/compiler is all I need.
