Due to his apprehensive nature the driver started suspecting him to be a Criminal.
When they got to Akpoha checkpoint, police stoppped them and ask the driver to open his booth, when they got to the booth the driver whispered to the Police that the person he is carrying seems to be a criminal that he has been fidgeting since.
So the police people now went and started questioning Dimka, due to the fact that he doesnt know his way around he could not defend his movement properly. They now arrested him.
It was when they got to Station that they found out that its Dimka, so when the taxi man came and said he is the one that found Dimka so that he will claim the bounty on Dimka , Dimka said its not true that it is the Policemen out of anger. He cursed the man that he will forever be wretched and poor, that instead of reporting him to the Police that he would have given him the money personally if he has opened up to him why they were driving.

Based on his pronouncement the money was given to the Policemen.

Vanguard newspaper interviewed an indigenous of Afikpo who narrated the story to them (Vanguard newspaper). You said your own narration came from an eyewitness, but the same person that narrated the story is also, from Afikpo. From what I understand about stories is, It comes from different accounts. The only person that can narrate the story clearly, is Dimka himself but he is late. I don't say that you are wrong.
