Davido is top sort after artiste across Africa, with multiple hit singles to his name.
He is not one of those artist we can referred to as from nothing to something because he was born into wealthy; definitely, he does have a story because he also struggled through some huddles to reach out to his dreams in music.
The superstar who recently scored the cover story of FADER Global magazine revealed how he dropped out of school to pursue music, but his father wasn’t aware.

At 16 he was taken to The US to get a college degree at Oakwood University, but Davido wasn’t ready for education, his passion for music was burning and that made him loose concentration in his studies and his grades dropped.

After three semesters, he disappeared from school without his father’s knowledge for months. After several failed attempt by his family to locate him, he returned to Lagos in 2011 with tattoos and piercing, which the dad was very disappointed and he got him arrested at the airport.
Having failed to bring home the business management degree he’d been sent to America to complete,

Davido reached a compromise with his father: he, still a teenager, would attend a private university.
He enrolled into Babcock University to study Business Management.

Davido, still a student, declared he no longer wanted to study business, and his father Chief Adeleke paid for the university to erect a music department for an inaugural class of one. He dropped his first single while in school and he came to lime light with the song Dami Duro.

Today, Davido is one of the most popular name in Nigeria music and of course Africa, with several hit singles, but he definitely didn’t get it easy with his family to do music, being the son of a multimillionaire, but through the odds, despite family hindrances he never stopped on the pursuit of his career and his struggle paid off.
