ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

“And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon;
and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself
abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn
back and cover that which cometh from thee”
- Deuteronomy 23:13

The North African country of Mauritania recently
banned the importation and manufacturing of
plastic bags in order to protect lives of marines
and coastal animals. The government, is sourcing
the use of biodegradable alternatives instead.
Animals and plants, no matter how small, are
precious to God. They add to the beauty and
balancing of ecology. Pollution and things that
inhibit natural habitat where they live endanger
them. Waste not dispose into appropriate places
may add dangerous chemical intoxicants into
rivers or ground water. The result is low yield and
sometimes death. Tree planting has become a
national issue in some countries to prevent desert
encroachment. No wonder God forbade Israel from
indiscriminate cutting down of trees even in an
enemy territory. Do not throw waste into water
ways, open field or litter the house with them. A
Christian youth must be orderly and decent.
Challenge: An unhealthy environment breeds ill
health
