Micho in line to take over Nigeria's Super Eagles

Sredojevic Milutin alias Micho is in line to dump Uganda and be named Nigeria’s next coach at the end of a two-match mandate handed the three-man caretaker coaching team led by Samson Siasia.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have already opened up discussions with experienced Serbian coach Micho and his representatives since the CHAN in Rwanda.

Top sources informed that technical committee chairman Chris Green met with Micho in Rwanda over the Eagles top coaching post and everything is now pointing to the former Rwanda and Orlando Pirates of South Africa coach to take over the Eagles after the two-match mandate given Siasia and his assistants.

“Green met with Micho at CHAN and it is like it is already a done deal. The plan was to appoint Shuaibu Amodu for the Egypt matches and after those games, a substantive foreign coach will be named with Micho in pole position,” a top official disclosed

“But Amodu declined the post because he is hypertensive and so the temporary arrangement of Siasia and co, who have been told they will revert to their previous posts after the matches against Egypt.”

Another source added: “Micho’s representatives have told me they have established a link with the NFF for quite some time now.”

It will also be recalled that former Nigeria international Tijjani Babangida, who was Sunday Oliseh’s special assistant, has alleged representatives of Herve Renard informed them NFF officials again led by Green attempted to offer Oliseh’s job to the former Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire coach.

Micho is 46 and he has proved his tactical prowess and wealth of knowledge across Africa – from Sudan, Ethiopia, Rwanda to Uganda – and it will be a track record that will come in handy when the 2018 World Cup qualifiers get underway in October.

it should be noted that siasia was only appointed for the match against Egypt

by the way if the NFF wants to get a new coach must it be a second class coach

cant we get a world class coach

or is Keshi and Siasia not better

Is NFF no longer going to help the naira to grow? Is PMB and his team hypocrites? Why ban imports and allow foreign coach imports? Is this part of growing the local economy? Or is some issues sacrosanct and above buy naija to help naira to grow?

Lol

A journeyman.
I like most Nigerians have never heard of him. If it's cos of his white skin; might as well go for Donald trump. At least, he will build a wall in our defence.

I think a responsible Nigerian coach with good track records will suffice and if he fails there should be room for second chance. The idea of sacking and replacing coaches after they fail in tournaments and qualifiers won't help our national football.

Welcome Mr Micho. My advice to you is, park in with just 50% of your belongings. If made-in-naija coaches like Keshi and Oliseh can't do it,.............

But why is this NFF embarrassing Nigeria like this?

Why these Junk Coaches? SiaOne is far better than all these White Coaches that has coached in Africa. But a prophet is never regarded in His Home town.

Nothing special about Renald self, dude is lucky. That's just about it. Both times he won, we weren't there!

and this Micho, what has he achieved? NFF tell us.

NFF is certainly the problem of Nigerian football. Why would they negotiate with another coach when a valid contract with Oliseh was still in force. The same thing they did to Keshi during AFCON. However when it was rumoured that he applied for a coaching job in SA, they issued him a query. They always have this mentality of "appoint and shame" Nigerian coaches. They couldn't keep to the terms of the contract signed with Keshi and Oliseh....and they were busy scheming on how to boot them out and bring a foreign stooge that will do their bidding.

Who is Micho, what track record does he have? Never heard of his name before.

Sincerely speaking, the current board and their hangers on are the reason why Nigerian football is in shambles.
Why not appoint a coach on a four year contract and allow him do his job?

Sincerely, I am happy Oliseh took a bold step by resigning before being disgraced out of office. It is on record that he kicked them before they kick him. Oliseh saw the hand writing on the wall.....technically, he is smarter than the whole board.

God bless Nigeria
