And awolowo and ojukwu is a hero? These men caused the death of so many Nigerians; I will rather stick with fela

When you fight for something you believe, then you're a hero to those you're fighting for.

Fela is in a class of his own.

The greatest prophet of modern times, Fela fought for all Nigerians.

Ojukwu's failure started at Ore where he allowed a yoruba to command his troops to lagos instead of effcient and loyal Biafran officers like Col. Achuzia or Lt col Ogbugu kalu. In a bid to appear 'friendly' to the yorubas. That failure changed everything.

No, that was Ojukwu mistake and wickedness, he asked the only Yoruba, Banjo, among them to lead half baked soldiers from East to Lagos, knowing quite well that he has to pass through Ibadan where Obasanjo was stationed.

After taken middle-west, he contacted Obasanjo begging him to allow them pass to Lagos but Obasanjo refused, saying he is an enemy of state. Ask yourself how could he have faced Obasanjo with less than 1000 soldiers (half-backed) and still head to Dondon barack?

Ojukwu resulted to killing him saying he purposely refused, a statement Obasanjo said was a mistake that Banjo actually planned to hit Lagos but knew he couldn't succeed if he is to confront both Ibadan and Lagos with the same men. Hope you know Ojukwu killed other Biafran soldiers accusing them of planning coupe.

The enemies of igbo great nation will leave and see how igbo will be greater than their miserable and shameful life. Many other tribes wished they are igbos , to them we share our blessings provided they are not saboteurs or jealous of our blessings . We are the people of Israel blessed by God god . Like if you are proud to be igbo and share if you are friend of igbo for blessings.

You donnot use small later to spell the name of our Almighty God.. Oya thank me later .. grin grin

Also Its nt only Igbo that re blessed, My God is the God of All.. grin

Fela didn't fight for nobody, he was making music and smoking sh**t ; you can't fight for something you can peacefully resolve , awo's and ojukwu were selfish

Don't you think the crisis could have been averted ?

These guys just wanted out. Why not grant them? Or find a way to make it favourable to them, nobody will fight for a plate of food If everyone is been well fed

Fyi I am not igbo

Fela fought for everyone through his songs. His lyrics are the equivalents of prophetic warnings the crooks and vagabonds that always climb their way to power.

As for the rest, I agree.

There is one thing I will never understand about Awolowo. This man witnessed the Northerners slaughter over 50,000 people mainly Igbos yet he went to bed and said to himself:

These Northners are the best people to be in one nation with, they are just lovely

Maybe it is just in the nature of the Yoruba man to be a slave of the Sokoto caliphate

Did you know that some yorubas were also killed in that pogrom in the north? My father's teacher in kano was shot to pieces in front of him and his classmates. The teacher was yoruba.

Do you know how yorubas reacted? They sent their Obas to go prostrate and plead with emir of Kano and other northern kings. In that north-west meeting, they blamed the East for everything including colonialism and the fatal formation of nigeria.

Silly thread
Forget sentiments, everyone is fighting for dominance in Nigeria, so don't blame anybody for ur woes. Zik won against awolowo, awolowo made moves to also win, so?
Last elections, igbos felt they had better chances with GEJ, they voted him, Yorubas felt otherwise, they voted against him, why the beef.
Igbos wanna be president, Yorubas wanna be, so also Hausas, you just have to be smart and outsmart your enemy. Some use blackmail, others propaganda, some deceit.

Quote me at ur own loss

I have always maintained that Awolowo was a corrupting factor on Nigerian politics.

Fast forward to present day and we have the likes of Tinubu furthering that canker seed from Awolowo.

The man Awolowo remains a bitter frustrated over ambitious politician with a bloated ego and high sense of entitlement.

May he rot forever in hell
That's why God never allowed him become president no matter how much he tried to now he is being worshipped by his people

Yes, you are quite right. He's still being worshipped by his people for the legacy he left behind, many decades after his demise which many (ingrates) who are now wishing him to rot in hell also indirectly benefitted or are still benefitting from, currently.

Even the senile crippled who wrote that piece of junk he called "There was a country" was also a beneficiary of his foresight but as expected never acknowledge before he went to meet his maker.

I dont care of Awolowo was the ring leader of the coup...bottom line is Ibo bought this product, Ibo must deal with its defects untill its no longer usable and we are ready to throw it in thrash. You should not have led coup if you were unfit to bear burden of its aftermath.

Awolowo was a piece of trash murderer and is a VIP in the hottest part of hell right now, and that "senile cripple" achieved far more than you, your family, and your unborn generation put together will ever achieve in a quarter lifetime.

Politicians align their interest with their pockets, so if they cry about yorubas supporting Buhari, they are speaking for partisan interest and party interest and not for the entire Igbo race, to the average Hausa, Igbo, or yoruba man on the street trying to survive, APC or pdp means little or nothing to them.
