Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Goodwill Akpabio has been named as the central sure in the vehicle scam that led to the detention of Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Prince Uche Secondus.

Secondus remains in detention struggling to make bail after agents of the People’s Democratic Party found out that a portion of oil proceeds was used to buy 23 luxury vehicles for party leaders and officials including a former junior minister of defense, Musiliu Obanikoro.

SaharaReporters learnt that former Governor Akpabio, now a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria colluded with Mr. Jide Omokore to divert proceeds of funds meant for the federal government into a slush fund that was used to purchase high-end luxury cars for party leaders. Mr. Secondus shared the vehicles to top PDP leaders and reportedly sold some to an auto retailer in Abuja.

The Secretary of the PDP Professor Wale Oladipo, who is also involved in the scam, has hurriedly obtained a court injunction from an Abuja high to prevent the EFCC from arresting him on the allegation that he took some luxury vehicles from Secondus.

Ex-Governor Akpabio reportedly pressured Mr. Omokore to donate the luxury vehicles to the PDP and submitted a list of party leaders entitled to receive the vehicles.

A revolution is already on course...by the APC finish dealing with PDP, it will have only itself to fight.

This is just a ridiculous, vindictive circus show. How is it a "vehicle scam" that a private businessman donated cars to a political party? If you have any valid and provable ssues with how the businessman made the money that he used to buy the cars that he donated to the party officials, why not prosecute the businessman for acquiring wealth illegally? The same way you prosecute thieves when caught - without harassing all the ashawos and beer parlour owners that the thief spent his loot on. Wetin concern the party officials?

By the same token, why haven't the useless EFCC populated by bastards arrested Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Chris, and other pastors who ROUTINELY accept tithes and gifts from supposedly corrupt individuals? What's the contextual difference, really?
