It is so obvious that just as your society could influence your character, attitude, and behavior, it can also influence and determine how you would view the concept of talent and all it others related issues. As we all should already know, our immediate societies could play a big part in determining who and what we will be, mostly because of the people who are there. After some little observations on different societies of the world, it is personally noticed that some societies tends to influence people to approach the issue of talent utilization in a positive form; while others do theirs negatively, though indirectly.

Either your own society would make you approach the concept of talent utilization in a positive form or in an indirect negative form, the basic thing you should have in mind is that: your society could influence you in the way you will see, treat, or handle your talents. With this in mind, you should be prompt to always be on the watch, at alert, for any kind of influence the society want to offer.

There are some societies that seem to enjoy assisting people (especially the younger ones) to discover themselves. And in such societies, they put in place things that would help achieve the course. In such societies, most of them has their academics scheme programmed in such manner to assist each student discover what he or she love to do, or can do. Not only in schools alone, but even at home. In such societies, they do offer assistance to people to discover their talents; as well as stressing the necessity of having to develop them. And one outstanding thing about many of such societies is that, they rarely segregate potentials and attributes. That is, even if one’s special ability is not yet popularly known in the society, they still try to offer the little assistance they can offer, just to make the person to be able to deploy his talents. Those kinds of societies, if they exist, are those that make one approach the concept of talents utilization in a positive manner.
Meanwhile, there are some other societies that segregate talents. In such societies, full attention is only given to some abilities, while others are consciously discriminated. Not only that, but in majority of such societies, good plans on how to assist people discover themselves with their talents, are rarely draft. Many of those societies understands that if they assist many of the citizens to start utilizing their talents, there are lots of advantages therein; and one of the prominent one is that, it will help reduce the rate of unemployment in the society. But unfortunately, many of these other societies (which could influence one to approach the concept of talent utilization wrongly) don’t seem to have these kinds of vision.

So, you should know that, just like your immediate society can shape your character, your attitude, and mentality, if you allow it to do so; in the same manner, your society can determine how you will treat your talents. But why do you think our immediate societies could have certain capacities to intimidate us, with our abilities? Well, though there could be different reasons for this, one which I think you should know is this. You see, since our immediate environments are made up of our close and loved ones (family’s members, relatives, friends, neighbors, and so on), we can’t help but allow them to mix with us. That means, often times, while making plans for our own lives, they will be there at the back of our minds. Thus, before deciding on any plan that has to do with our own lives, we would imagine how they will react to it; or how they will take that kind of idea. However, the society could be one of the major factors that could determine how successful an individual could be- depending on the individual.

Also, some of the major things which determines the extent which the society could intimidate someone, are, things like, self-esteem, how someone believes in his or her own self and goal; and most importantly, one’s faith in God: one’s relationship with God.
If you don’t know your worth and who you are, it will be very easy for the society to push you around, and intimidate you in the way you will handle your talents. Even if you have a good plan with a good dream, and you don’t believe in God that it will come to pass, it will be so easy for the society to discourage you. And if one doesn’t have a better relationship with God, it will be easier for life to push the person down from the person’s own track.

So, whether your society is a positive or negative one, ensure it never intimidates you to go into something that isn’t God’s plan and God’s will for your life. Have a firm believe in God. Have a better relationship with God. And God will help you.
