1. Indiscipline on the part of drivers causes road accidents. When they sense some abnomaly in the car,they do not respond promptly to address the problem.

2. Druken driving is another cause of road accident. Excessive alcohol is an enemy of good driving. But,who guages what the driver takes in?

3.Disrespect for other road users. When a driver believes he is always right,he may turn out an accidet waiting to happen.

4. Ignorance of highway code. Most Nigerian drivers do not have proper knowledge of the highway code. Once, they can start a vehicle and move it,they become experts.

5. There has been a rampant abuse of making phone calls while driving. This is one area the law enforcement agents seem to have gone to sleep on. This is one major cause of accidents on our roads.

6. Bad roads have also been a major cause of loss of lives. When road contracts are not properly executed,this is what we get as a result of corruption.

7. Talking while driving can be hazzardous. Discussions are distractions to the driver.
