Hi Guys!

Hope you do not mind me posting. I know this is Nairaland but I do see others here. In any case I value input from any and all.

I am a black woman of Jamaican heritage and I wish to change my name. It is highly likely I am Ghanaian and of Akan descent.

Using the naming convention, I should be Afia. Is this pronounced Ah-Fia or Ay-Fia?

Also how do I go about choosing a surname? Is there a list available.

I have searched and not found many. It seems there are no first names start with 't'? I have seen Tawiah for a surname.

My first choice would be to have both names start with 't' perhaps with Afia as a middle name.

Any suggestions please?

Peace and thank you.
