The day I respected TVC, their correspondent went to a war torn country like Central African Republic to cover news and was reporting live.

For me, it was in one of the SS states and I saw TVC (perhaps, it must have been CONSAT) news with a reporter reporting from a North African country (can't remember which one). I had to dig deep again; TVC has/had undergone massive investments. For them to have reporters in foreign countries speaks a lot. Channels has tried to maximise their potentials based on the funds they have. There was a time I used to yab them cos they only used to show pictures most of the time (particularly sports news); so it was almost like listening to the radio on TV.

It's interesting to note that except Fola, the likes of Gimba and the sports guy (can't remember his name now) have gone to CBS and come back to Channels TV.


So like others have said, TVC has wide coverage. I have a feeling Channels knows that they are giving them a run for their money. However, the reputation Channels has built so far will continue to make them grow. For TVC, the allegiance the founders have will continue to remain a concern for those who 'consume' their news.

When I hear the diction of veterans on radio, considering the fact that most of them didn't have university training, I imagine the rigourous training they underwent in the radio school at Shogunle, Lagos.
