ORGANISEDLabour, yesterday, raised alarm that the food, beverage and tobacco sector of the nation’s economy was on the verge of shutting down and that over three million jobs were at risk due to the inability of companies to source foreign exchange to import raw material for operations. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/03/forex-crisis-food-beverage-sector-to-sack-3m-workers/ 1 Like 1 Share |

From where do these people churn out such unbelievably absurd stats? It's becoming increasingly obvious that these numbers are being conjured up 'sinisterly' in order to arm twist the government into releasing more forex than she is willing to. 7 Likes 1 Share |

No forex for imports. Everything to do with the low oil price....and the laziness of the companies in not developing local sources of raw materials. I hope that they do that...instead of sacking workers. All in all....Nigeria has been an oil dependent economy for too long. Time we forgot about free awoof money from oil..and worked for it. Nigeria will become great if we get off oil...and use our raw materials for our benefit. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Propaganda. We can still source a large chunk of the raw materials locally. This condition should force us to make our economy self dependent. Some gifted hands refined petroleum locally during the civil war. No pain, no gain! 5 Likes 1 Share |

Nd there are more millions at home seeking for employment, how crazier can things get? somebody will still come here to tell me PMB is still cleaning d mess made by d last administration. sanitation is supposed to bring relieve, fresh air, easiness n so on, but in this case, things are getting worst. should we blame those manufacturers for not seeking for an alternative to importing raw materials? maybe, but they are doing business n will take decisions that will yield profit. d bulk OS on d table of d govt to b socially responsible to d people 5 Likes |

MsGlobalwonder: More like.....PDP did not develop the power, and raw materials locally when they had the chance...and APC would suffer the same fate as PDP if they don't do the needful POWER TRANSPORT EDUCATION. 3 Likes |

3 million ? Okonjo Iweala already told us to brace for tough times ahead. I guess she knows the Lie her economic team were lieing can no longer be sustained. How do we explain that the 'biggest' economy in Africa is facing this kind of challenges because of Oil Price after the oil price boom witnessed while His Excellency President Jonathan was there. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/171145-brace-tougher-times-ahead-okonjo-iweala-tells-nigerians.html http://newsrescue.com/broken-looted-economy-get-ready-suffering-ngozi-iweala-tells-nigerians/ http://thestreetjournal.org/2015/05/we-borrowed-n473bn-to-brace-recurrent-expenditure/ Now over to you wailers. The appointed time to Wail without reasoning has come. The tough time is here. God will lead our leaders right and we will get out of it. 8 Likes 1 Share |
