Problem is...Holland did fill up the empty cells for a while with Belgian prisoners but they stopped doing that. The Belgian prisoners were complaining about the food and that they were too far away of family to come easily for visit.

Waooo! This is very interesting for the Dutch and her residents. How I wish our case is like that here in Naija, but reverse is the case. We are opening more prisons instead.
Because it is now a way of life to commit in our private and public lives/engagements.
Also we are highly sentimental in the context of Tribalism and otherwise.

They could lease out there prisons to wealthier and silly nations, instead of closing them down, at least it will help them save thousands of jobs.
Throwing up people out of employment can drastically undermine the progres they have make in the area of keeping crime low.

i think providing prison service to other countries could be a good source of revenue to their government, keep their law enforcement officers in duty and give them the necessary experience to handle different types of criminals worldwide.

Nice move from their government,but the citizens should also be commended for making it work because I don't think this approach can work in every country for most people learn the hard way making punishment to be explored by their government rather than rehabilitation
