No light, no water, no fuel, no food, no no no is the chorus sang all over the country at present. No doubt that times are really hard, but every man who sees beyond his nose can see a silver lining in the cloudy future.

The hope that keeps a pregnant woman going, is knowing for sure that the pains will be over after a period of time. This hope is what keeps her alive, strong and up and doing.

After more than 50 years as an independent nation, 3 republics past and 16 years wasted in an uninterrupted democracy, Nigerians for the first time elected a leader that didn't emerge by chance- but by a conscious attempt to being the president of the country. According to history, no Nigerian leader had emerged from a conscious preparation to being a president except President Buhari.

Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa the first and only prime minister of Nigeria never dreamt or prepared to lead Nigeria when he did, it was a chance provided by the great Sir Ahmadu Bello the Sardauna of Sokoto who had every chance to become the prime minister but rejected, and sent his deputy at party level to fill in that space.

Alhaji Shehu Shagari became president after Obasanjo willingly relinquished power to a democratically elected president. Then, he was vying for a senatorial seat but the calculation changed and he found himself on the presidential seat, the rest is now history.

Ernest Shonikan came into power only to fill a vacuum created by the annulment of the June 12, 1992 elections by the them military president Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo's prison to president miracle is a well known story, and how he literarily dragged the unwilling and ill Umaru Musa Yar'dua to presidency is also a well known story. Sooner than we all thought, Goodluck Jonathan became a child of necessity- this necessitated his emergence as president of our country without ever preparing for the challenge of being a president. It took him almost his entire tenure to learn the act of being a president.

Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Gen. Murtala Muhammed, Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Gen. Sani Abacha and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar were all "accidental public servants".

Only President Buhari came to power with a conscious attempt to becoming a president. He had plans with a task to building the country from scratch, by firstly identify the menace in the system and deal with it head on.

In every system, there is a critical sector that when fixed, other sectors will automatically fix themselves. In the case of Nigeria, this critical sector is corruption. Corruption is a lucrative sector in our system that is responsible for almost all ills and when fixed, insecurity will fix itself, unemployment will do same, power failure will exist only in history books, brain drain will turn the other way round, foreign investor and tourist will find home in Nigeria, and a lot more too many to mention.

Isaac Newton's 3rd law of motion states "to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" this law explains the hardship Nigerians are faced with today. The action of President Buhari in fighting corruption provokes the reaction of the corrupt to fight back with equal if not more powerful reaction. They are fighting back with their lives. This reaction is responsible for the hardship we are faced with today, but with little more time, am sure they will be defeated because they are the treacherous enemies of the state.

Buhari acted by implementing TSA, being a major step to plugging leakages, they reacted by changing their monies to dollars and starching them in suck ways, farms and villages. This resulted in the scarcity of dollar and the free fall of Naira in the parallel market.

Buhari acted by reducing pump price by 50K and removing the controversial fuel subsidy, they reacted by creating an artificial scarcity, just to get back to the president with the people's anger.

Buhari acted by producing an unprecedented budget with higher capital expenditure, which gives hopes for better days, but they swiftly reacted by paddling the budget, trying to ridicule the government at the detriment of the masses resulting to delaying the passage of the budget. Without a passed budget, it is always difficult to pay salaries let alone do anything significant.

Buhari acted by "unbundling" NNPC into 7 units for transparency and accountability, they reacted by cutting off fuel supply chains to power stations, throwing the whole country into darkness for days.

They will always follow the Newton's law, in an effort to bring back corruption while we will always be at the offensive to stamp out corruption. A little more patience is just what is needed... There is light at D end of d tunnel...

Nothing new. Buhari's just doing what he did 1983/85 we are on a long thing. One more year and the talk of an imaginary eldarado being futuristic will be gone.

On Tinubu's bday super eagles crashed and buhari flew out on another wasteful journey even as hardship spread.

That is the reality chanji is a disaster!

You better wake up from your slumber. Has all the years Buhari spent on planning on becoming President materialised in any meaningful development till date?. It is obvious that even the first 10 months of Obasanjo, Yar'adua and GEJ recorded better accomplishments than this current administration, which has elevated mediocrity into statecraft and junketing into Governance.

An APC Executive and Legislature controlling party just like PDP days couldn't band together to pull the country out of this end game recession but deem it fit to band together settle petty or childish quarrels

My summation is APC a fraud just like PDP. Our nation must seek a third force. The youths must rise up and stand up to the fact that we must take our country back from these frauds. God help Nigeria

Reasonable Nigerians know that President Muhammadu Buhari is on course. It might take time but surely we will get there.

Is it not laughable and ridiculous to hear that those who never believe in PMB and what he stands for from the onset are those trying maliciously to show us what has never be. Can they be more Catholic than the Pope?

It is only when they can understand the perception of our conviction about Buhari can they be morally and spiritually qualify to show us our own path.

This is a lame attempt to always find a sacrificial lamb to bear, absolve and atone buhari the saint in the eyes of the uninitiated.

For the records, all buhari's struggles with the state of the nation today were all self inflicted. In strategic management, it is common knowledge that some challenges require an immediate and spilt seconds decisions to salvage. Buhari's first six months immediately after the handover gave him away. I saw it coming so left the country for him.

I voted him and had always stuck for him but hes been a major disappointment so far. Shame on him.

Kindly list the achievements of OBJ in his first 10 months besides changing senate presidents and speakers countless times?

Also kindly name the achievements of gej in his first 10 months besides breaking the pot and sharing/squandering $20billion ECA funds?

For any reasonable government, substantial time is spent planning and you can not do that properly when you are out of office since you do not know the true details of the rot.

Most of the problems we face today, whether you agree or not are standard teething problems for a new administration but the issues have been exacerbated by the calamitous drop in revenue and the fact that the predecessor deliberately handed over a mess.

Who are these " they" that keep sabotaging the great works of Savior?

Don't these people ever get tired of making excuses for a dull, colorless incompetent leader?

The only thing I see in this write up is another attempt by a zombie to sell "patience" to us. B uhari has failed so much that the zombies are running out of excuses. Now the only thing they have is telling us to b patient and that things take time. Mtcheew. B uhari has failed woefully as Nigeria's president in his first year period.

I tnk u for remaining steadfast in your "Change" support despite all odds. But I must state rightly that though most Nigerians supported the change agenda, what we are presently witnessing is not the change we bargained for. Assuming as allegedall by the writer that Buhari is the only elected President that really prepared for it, taking his consistent context for the post for 3 consecutive times should an average Nigerian still believe his preparation when it took him over 7 months to appoint his Minister, leaving the economy groping in the dark. Even when his appointment came there was nothing special as his appointees turned out to still be the old hands that the writer alleged spoilt the country but who have suddenly become good by merely being members of APC. The writer made mention of TSA giving the impression that same was introduced by BUHARI. Pls that impression should be corrected as this govt has several times acknowledged the fact that Jonathan's govt introduced it. The writer should pls check his records. Whilst not supporting Jonathan's anti corruption stance, I give it to Jonathan's admin. that for almost thro out his tenure, we never for once experienced this form of hardship as is presently being witnessed all over the country in the name of fuel scarcity. Now there's no fuel, no electricity, no water, no job for the average Nigerian and the govt is busy reneging in all it's electoral promises and blaming the past govt instead of sitting up to its responsibilities. All these problems appear not to touch our president as he is busy globetrotting instead of sitting down to find solutions to the problem. It obvious that Lai Mohammed can tell the difference between propaganda and governance now. Pls the patience of Nigerians is running out. Something seriously must be done to check this drift before it gets out of hand. We're tired of fruitless promises.
Re: Hard Times Under Buhari Not A Surprise. By Yusuf Idris Amoke. by Diilaaw: 3:00am On Apr 11, 2016
We are fighting corruption and the writer appears to blame the opposition for same, how come the govt found out the its budget was padded and instead of bringing the official that did that to answer for their misdeed only moved them to other ministries where they stay continue perpetrating their nefarious acts. Pls if we are fighting corruption, let it be holistic. It is corruption to pad the budget and those that did it should be made to face the law.

It very unfortunate we have not asked ourselves how did we got here. If this government had retained subsidy, will there be fuel scarcity?
Rather, some greedy cronies, would have taken advantage of the shallow system and milk this country all in the name of subsidy.

If our previous administrations had fix the refineries or perhaps build new one would there be fuel scarcity?

If the forex inflow had not decreased due to fall in oil price, would there be supply to support importation?

If our pipeline to depots were maintained and guided would there be difficulty in pumping from jetty to the depot?

If nigeria had develop their rail line before now to encourage mass transit, wouldn't the demand for fuel be reduced as it is obtained in other develop world?

Even the educational sector is not left out of the touch of corruption?

I have always argued, anyone criticizing the present administration should put forward his suggestions. That is if he has any. I am quite sure the first thing most people will say is devalue the naira. Again I ask on who's interest if we devalue the naira? A nation that import virtually everything except the air we breath.

I remember vividly, what led to resignation of Prof Bath Nnaji former minister of Power. He was kicked out because he told the then President most of the biders are to here to improve the system but to make profit. Some nigerians were deceived by the reason the FG put forward "vested interest". The situation has gone bad, their capacity is been tested and pipelines are being blown up by enemy within and Nigeria is thrown into darkness.

Others may have forgotten how corruption was shouting "see me" in the last administration but nothing was done. Not for the soul of those young job seekers who were dupe all in the name of immigration recruitment. Yet the minister was not removed. That was another endorsement of corruption. Anyway, the yam and goat theory was what we got as compensation.

Please, before you rain insult, remember that our mother taught us that stealing is corruption.

Stop spewing falsehood . . . Most of what people like you use in bashing Buhari are things that were hitherto sustained by huge oil earnings. Things like Salaries, Forex, Fuel, and Budget.
Buhari has exceeded expectation already. His job is to steer the ship called Nigeria n not to be the one to make it filled up. With people idling away there is little The President can do. We produce next to nothing and so depend on oil fund shared out to buy foreign alternatives always. It is no fault of Buhari if oil price have gone down thereby making life harder for beggars in suits n agbadas.
