SIMY ALREADY SHOWING HIS QUALITIES

How Super Eagles Lined Up In Training Session – Crotone Simy Scores Spectacular Goal
May 24, 2018013

Ahead of their upcoming friendly game against Congo DR in Port Hacourt, the senior national team of Nigeria had their second training session witnessed by Owngoalnigeria.com.

As usual the team were shared into two different teams by coach of the team Gernot Rohr after the traditional warming up, light exercises and shooting drills.

Rohr lined the team up in a way which suggest he is already building the team for the Congo DR friendly as most of the regular players were lined up in one team, while the rest who are trying to win a spot were lined up in a separate team.

The highlight of the one hour training session game saw newly invited Crotone forward Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo open scoring in a spectacular fashion with a lob over the head of goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Awoniyi, Olayinka, Agbo make Belgium league’s Young Team of the Season

Former U-17 World Cup-winning striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has been named as one of the eleven best players under the age of 23 in the just concluded Belgium league regular season after a string of impressive displays with Royal Excel Mouscron, AOIFootball.com reports.

The on-loan Liverpool attacker, who scored 7 goals with 5 assists, leads the attack in a 4-3-3 formation which also includes two Nigerians Uche Agbo of Standard Liege and Peter Olayinka of Zulte Waregem.

Olayinka, on his part, joins the front three after scoring 8 goals in the regular season while also adding 4 assists to his name in 23 games played, starting in all of the games he featured in this season.

While Agbo who was part of Nigeria’s friendly match against Poland and Serbia, he forms a midfielder trio after impressing for Standard Liege that made it into the Championship playoff round.

Uche Agbo scored one goal all season, had an impressive passing accuracy of 87% while also averaging well over 80% of passes completion per game.

Agbo remains part of Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr’s World Cup plan while Awoniyi on the other hand must continue to work hard if he’s to stand any chance of been a part of the World Cup party to Russia later in June.

Where is Samuel Kalu?

Don't even compare his stats with Bonaventure Boniface and Abdul Ajagun. He down the pecking order.

Whenever Victor Moses is in the team I feel like he is holding us back from playing free flowing football. I am not a big fan of his style...Always dribbling into crowd of people and will most likely lose the ball
The same reason why he was dropped against Bosnia in the last WC.

Haha!! Mikel would not get you goals (even though he can score once in a while), but VicMo would get you goals. Wherever you play him, he would always get you goal. That's the difference, really. But like I said, we can play without anybody including Mikel. We might not be at our best without some key players but we can still play as a team and win matches.

@ykalhaji: How much do I pay you so you guys can stop using a meaningless friendly game as a yardstick for everything? We beat Argentina without VicMo, my behind. Oya, go and play them in Russia without him let's see how far that friendly results can get you shocked

O pari

Bros so with VicMo we will beat Argentina at the world cup ? Vic Mo is not a disciplined player when he plays for Nigeria which will make it easy for European coaches to game plan for him. If VicMo is the player we arr going to depend on to score or creates the usual penalties he accrued against African teams, we might not win one single game. I love Vic Mo, but I am just raising a caution, Vic Mo's gra gra was needed against African teams and during our Nigerian Indigenous coaches era, but with the level of talent in the team now and technical expertise of the new coach, Vic Mo's gra gra should be his last option not his go to.

But to your Mikel statement, in that list ROHR is taking to the world cup. If Mikel gets injured omo forget, nothing for us again. I watched Joel Obi is like 33% pf Mikel Obi. So in the world cup Mikel Obi is indispensable, VicMo not so much.

That has been my point.

In fact the fact that Ighalo is our first choice CF, doesn't speak well of the team. Any CF that can make a serious impact should be included at the expense of a fringe defender that may likely not kick a ball.
Exactly,Ighalo has played 3 games for us without scoring.

We really need someone who is consistent in that position.
