By Daud Olatunji, Abeokuta

Ogun State Police Command has uncovered a spiritualists’ den in Iyana-Ilogbo axis of Sango-Ota area of the state, and arrested two suspects.

Sunday Vanguard learnt that policemen attached to Sango Police State, and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad team swooped on a building, acting on a tip off from a member of the community, and arrested the two suspects.

The den was located within an abandoned Ayokunnu filling station, about 20 metres from the popular Iyana Ilogbo bus stop, along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

The two suspected ritualists arrested in the den were identified as Babatunde Taofeek and Hammed Hassan.

It was further gathered that inside the den were a decomposing body of a male victim, clothes, shoes, wigs, matchetes, and bags.

A resident, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent that two victims in the custody of the ritualists’ escaped from the building and an attempt by them (ritualists) to recapture them led to the discovery of the den.

Prompt response by the police led to the arrest of the suspects while two other persons suspected to be members of the gang were reported to have escaped.

When our correspondent visited the den, scores of residents thronged the building, with some recording the scene on their phones. When contacted, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident.

In civilised societies that values it's citizens, Ogun state should have been on total knockdown with house to house searches conducted to out root the body parts dealers.
