 Mud houses have been phased out in the eastern part of Nigeria, especially in cities. Primarily because Mud as a mode of building is provides inferior security, health conditions, general living conditions and adaptability (electricity and application of modern appliances) than modern structures. It encourages slumming and is an unsightly tumor on any city's quest for modernization. It's a wonder that an entire city in 2016 is almost completely made of mud. What we see in Kano is pitiful and shows a lack of capability, education, industry, as well as intelligence on the part of the city's planners and 'leaders'. It also speaks volumes to how primitive and squalid a state bad leadership has left the minds of the average Kano man.
