HTC finally took the wraps off its newest flagship device the "HTC 10" (yeah they've dropped the "One" branding). The HTC 10 pretty much continues the all metal premium feeling design first introduced with the HTC One (which is a good thing).
The HTC 10 sports a 5.2 inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440 pixels, 546ppi) LCD display with 2.5D curved edge Gorilla glass which puts it on par with flagship devices from Samsung and LG. The internal of the HTC 10 contains Qualcomm's top of the line 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM for better multitasking, 32GB or 64GB memory options which can be further expanded via the microSD slot and powered by a large 3000mAh non-removable battery. The HTC 10 supports Qualcomm's new Quick Charging 3.0 which allows it to gain a 50% boost in a mere 30 minutes.

The Ultrapixel camera branding from the HTC One M7 makes a return with the HTC 10 sporting a 12MP HTC Ultrapixel2 sensor with pixel sizes of 1.55 microns and an aperture size of f/1.8 which allows more light to enter the camera sensors. The 12MP camera sports laser autofocus for speedier snaps and OIS for better low light photos. The front facing selfie camera maxs out at 5MP with 1.34 micron pixels size and f/1.8 aperture.

Although the HTC 10 swaps out one of the front facing speakers for a Samsungesque Home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, and dual capacitive buttons setup (which is i find welcoming, if the space is going to be there, might as well use it for something) it still retains the stereo BoomSound™ sound as the second speaker has been moved to the bottom of the device. The new setup according to HTC allows the bottom speakers to act as a subwoofer. The HTC 10 also comes with a Hi-Res Audio certified inbox headphones with bigger sound drivers for a richer sound.
On the software side of things, HTC has chosen to keep its modifications down to a minimum with the changes to stock Android being the use of the Sense launcher. All the common Android OEM bloatware have been removed leaving just a theme engine and Boost+ (an app, battery and memory manager). The Boost+ app allows users to lock specific apps which they don't want others to get to an also manages the performance of the device by detecting the type of app running and boosting the performance of the HTC 10 to match the requirements.
The HTC 10 would be available later for purchase this month in a choice of Carbon Gray, Glacier Silver Topaz Gold and Camellia Red. The pricing for the unlocked version of the HTC 10 starts at $699 or N225,000 assuming an exchange rate of $1= N336.

I just read on DXOmark that the camera of this device scored 88 points, thus, putting the HTC 10 at par with the S7 camera. I guess HTC finally got it right since the M7. Well done HTC, well done!!! wink
