If you are in ibadan i can help you but the process is easy. First you need LAN connection to share the printer Secondly you need to identify the server (main computer) and clients (Other PC's that you want to share the printer with) Thirdly you need to install the printer on the server (main computer) and right click to locate the printer property and share the printer on the main system, this will enable other see the printer as network printer. Once you are through with 3rd step: Go to the clients (other systems) and locate printer and devices for you to visibly see and install the printer on other network...If you don't understand email me lakefist@gmail.com 2 Likes |

It's very simple....connect the printer to one of the system having a wireless ,then go to file sharing in network sharing settings and share the printer and install the printer driver on all the systems so as to be able to print ...then connect them all wirelessly .....it easy...that's all |

Just like many others have indicated, there are myriad of ways to go about this, but every one of them involve some type of networking or interconnection. First thing first, take stock of the resources of each of the PCs and Printer and the distant between them...e.g. Do the PCs have NIC, parallel or serial port, Wifi adapter or spare USB port? What about the printer, is it a network printer and if yes, does it have a NIC or does it have wifi capabilities, does it have parallel, serial or USB port for printing. Note that all disimilar ports types must be converted to same port types by some bridge or adapter. Next determine your budget, but for efficiency, performance and durability, go with LAN or Wifi interconnection, except on or multiple of the devices are not LAN compatible or do not have the needed port/interface. Remember, that you can easily convert one port type/interface to another desired one via an adapter/bridge. The lest expensive but albeit crude method is to use some type of manual or automatic parallel switching device. For LAN printing, you can have all PCs print directly to the printer (only possible if the printer have a NIC or WiFi), a quasi-equivalent of this is to buy any cheap PC (any PC that can run OS will do) as a printer server, the printer connects to this PC via parallel or serial port, you install the printer driver(s) on the PC, then share the printer. Then the other computers can route their print job through the printer server....note that, for easy of operation, if the four PCs are running different types of OS, the printer driver for each of those OSes should be loaded on the printer server...this way, all the PCs can easily download it and install it, when you start configuring the shared printer on each PC, otherwise you will have to individually install the drivers on each of the PCs for which a driver is not available at the print server. The other LAN option is, if the printer have a NIC or wifi adapter. This is very straight forward, just install printer driver on each PC and point to the IP address of the printer. You can also enable remote or internet printing as well, but this is beyond the scope of your question. |

There should be something in one of your textbooks that shows how to network computers. Check google and youtube as well. You also did not mention if the printer has wireless capabilities. If you think someone is going to recommend multiple ports, cables or outlets, you're on a long thing. |

The easiest way to get this done is to use a USB printer switch. It could even be cheaper than doing TCP/IP networking if you don't have the networking materials at hand. 1 Like |

buy a "USB Print Server" Device. the steps to network it are elaborate sha, but afterwards, the "Server Machine" needs not be online before you can print with the printer |

That means every time someone has to print they will have to send it to the main computer/server and print itfrom there, right? ayokenny37: |

The most convenient way to do this is by Using a Router... If your Office use a Router for Connection, Follow these steps..... 1) Install the Printer Drivers on the Main system... After that, Create a Homegroup and set it as a ''Home Network''... Copy the Homegroup's Password or change it to something you can remember easily..(This is important).... 2) On that Main computer, Go to ''Network and Sharing Center'', Click on Advanced sharing settings and ''Turn on File and Printer sharing''... 3) Still on that Main Computer, Go to ''Devices and Printers'', Then ''Right click'' on the Printer you installed, Click on ''Printer Properties'', Click on ''Sharing'' and select ''Share this Printer''... Now Apply and save changes... 4) Now on the other computers, Make sure the Wifi is on and can see the Routers connection and connect it.. Then go to ''Network and Sharing Center'', Click on Homegroup and Join the Networks Homegroup.. Supply the password yu were given when yu created the first ''Homegroup'' on the main system... Also go to Advanced Sharing Settings and Change your location to ''Home'' and also ''Turn on Network and File sharing''... After that, go to ''Devices and Printers'', and click on ''Add a Printer''.. Choose ''Add a Wireless and Network Printer'' and wait for it to search.. Once completed, click on ''Next'' and this will get the Printer drivers Installed... Also go to ''Devices and Printers'' and ''Right Click'' on the Printer you installed, set it as a ''Default Printer''.... Also do these for the other computers... 4) That is all you need to do... This writeup is based on the fact that i assumed that all your computers are running on the ''Windows 7'' Platform and have Wireless capabilities... Also note that ''Windows 7 Home Basic or Starter'' cant create a Homegroup except if its on ''Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate''..... 5) Dont Mind my Typo.... I typed this off the top of ma head and i may miss or not explain a few details perfectly... Cheers... 2 Likes |

CHISOMPHILIP:Firstly make sure all systems use same Workgroup name. Secondly It must be networked. Connect to one printer. Then On Printer properties in the Primary System, which is the one the printer is connected.to, Share the printer. Then go to other systems and Go to Printers and Faxes, choose add a printer and Choose a Network printer attached to another system, Make sure u know the system name. Once it display you'd see the printer just click and then it would he connected |
