Answers Needed! I Lost a Job Because I Have Low Social Media Followers. by nenergy(m): 2:49pm On Apr 15, 2016 |
I have a question. Seems I lost a social media manager / Viral content curator job at a software company because of my social media figures. During the interview, the recruiter asked how many followers I have on Facebook, twitter and instagram. Personal Facebook: 950, Blog Facebook: 450, Twitter: 260 and instagram 206. He didn't look impressed. I tried to divert his attention from my SM figures to my contents on www.thejobseekerscreed.com and this viral image featured on linda Ikeji's blog ( www.lindaikejisblog.com/2016/04/lolsee-what-nigerians-are-sharing-on.html ), but it seems his mind was already made. After 1 week without a mail, I investigated and discovered the other candidate has resumed. (2 of us were shortlisted out of . Question is: Must a social media person have massive following to be judged as been efficient or capable? Please comment and also epp me grow my Social media figures by following my channels and I will follow back!
