Without sounding too technical, the system is able to simulate and replicate thousands of conditions and scenarios occurring on the rig and in the oil wells, literally thousands. Students can replicate and simulate situations that range from, managing and supervising their own drillers on a rig, to studying and monitoring the constantly changing geothermal gradient & high pressure high temperature (HPHT) states of what’s going on thousand of feet below the ground. The system is able to simulate real-time simulation of formation and circulation systems, different gases and their behaviors, gas expansion and migration, deviated well geometry, directional drilling, swab and surge pressures, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), stripping in and out, as well as leak off testing. The system is able to simulate and replicate unlimited well plans, hundreds of equipment (drill bits, compressors, valves etc) 20-rig instrumentation, as well as over 60 different malfunctions and their contingencies to, just to name a few.

Students will get real-time feedback in the form of visuals
The system constantly monitors the students’ performance profiles, they get an after scenario report and can see how much power was used, the health and safety conditions of all workers on the rig while they were at work, how much power they used, how efficient their drill techniques, instrumentation setup and well plans were, how much money was made (or lost) as a result, and how it translates directly into the global oil trading market in dollars and cents per barrel. This is serious engineering! One that will not only equip students with both the basic and advanced technical training needed to excel in their fields, but will also give them that much needed confidence boost required by new graduates who are just entering a challenging and rigorous workforce. Not only will it set them apart in their technical performance, but it will also refine their thinking methodologies and approach to problem solving, which will eventually set them up to be captains and leaders of industries. This is the end game and ultimate purpose of education, in whichever form we may acquire it.
