I hope they will not pass it one of these nights. I can't put anything past these senators. When it comes to self preservation, you cannot beat them to it. |

maestroferddi: the cct act is part of the 5th schedule in the constitution, for it to be amended, the constitution itself would have to amended which is not a tea party and its greater than saraki or the senate. Someone must have reminded about this, hence the need to stand down on the matter. |

ibadanfinest:What happened in Senegal? Are you for real? So you are comparing Senegal, a banana republic of less than 20 million people to Nigeria, the acclaimed giant of Africa? Why not look major democracies of the world with bicameral legislatures? Consider the US, the UK, Brazil and other greats. The senate will remain in situ whether Buhari likes it or not. It is a veritable safeguard against tyranny and dictatorship. |

maestroferddi: Lemme help ur poor foreign oriented slavery knowledge Buhari isn't gonna sack the senate, he doesn't have the power to do that, we the electorate can do that. We don't have to follow the western model to develop. Have you heard of Asian Miracle (China, Singapore, Malaysia etc) They are called Asian miracles because they developed on their own terms, not according to lay down principles of the western world. We don't need to rely on their model(UK or US et al) for us to develop. We need to create our own while putting our uniqueness into consideration. Hope u learnt something. |

DropShot: If there is anything l am happy about, it is the fact that more Nigerians are now becoming aware, of who their "real enemies" are! Just look at the speed they moved to amend this law and set up a new one? Just look at the speed with which they invited the tribunal Chairman? (To their shame, he has just told them to stick it up their Hazz! ) Just look at how they are been misbehaving in the last three months? Buying Jeeps, increasing their own salary and allowances, e.t.c yet, they would tell us that Nigeria cannot AFFORD TO PAY 18,000 minimum wage? I hope Nigerians know that the our money that these ingrates spend is referred to as "structured" ? meaning, if the Senate appropriates (passes as law) #200 Billion for themselves, if the whole income for the country and its 170 Million citizens (less the Senators) is exactly that amount, the WHOLE MONEY GOES TO SATISFY THE SENATORS DEMAND! That is how bad it is. And just ask me what exactly these people do, to the benefit of Nigerians? If Nigerians had not cried out and put their foot down, these NASS Criminals are rubbing salt in our injuries. Just imagine: If you refuse to declare your income IN FULL and then end up NOT PAYING ADEQUATE TAX. If the Govt (FIRS or SIRS) catches you when they go through your Forms, will they give you a phone-call to say "We have caught you under-declaring your income and paying less tax, PLEASE COME TO OUR OFFICE AND EXPLAIN TO US WHY YOU DID THAT"? This is the EXACT summary of the new Bill those Criminals are trying to pass into law! It says "if you catch us in any criminality, you must call us for a discussion first, ask us to correct the false declaration before you even have the right to take us to the courts! Where in the world is justice administered that way?... ONLY IN NIGERIAN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY (NAAS)! But the battle has just begin. They have stylishly suspended the amendment to allow things to die-down so they can take Nigerians by surprise. Nigerians must be vigilant. Nigerians must come to the sad reality that they elected CRIMINALS to REPRESENT THEM in the National Assembly.... and no where in the world do Criminals antagonise each other. They ALWAYS support each other, while the citizens tear at each other over party and tribal affiliation! 2 Likes |

Goke7:What some of you guys fail to understand is that this present stand-off goes beyond Saraki. The Senate and indeed the legislature wants her independence to be preserved. That will go a long way in deepening Nigeria's democracy. It promises to be a long drawn-out battle... |

rusher14: Its not just enough to STONE or Harass these Criminals! They know how to change their phone every now and then, they know how to hide in Bullet-proof Vehicles, with tinted windows, e.t.c! I think Nigerians must take it to the next level: We must insist that the "Power to recall an erring Senator" by the Masses (based on a certain number of Signatures) be ACTIVATED AUTOMATICALLY in the Constitution. These guys dont give a hoot about the People they are supposed to be representing! Infact, they hate the People, they Deride the people and poke fun at the Populace! 4 Likes 1 Share |
