In all my years as an official of Enyimba, I have never experienced such lows and extreme highs from one game.

The ruthlessness of Etoile du Sahel was startling. So much so that the ref couldn't get into the dressing room during half time.

I was prevented from using my tablet, phone and camera. The head of the Abia State Permanent Secretary of Sports was cracked open by stones.

The threat of violence was so high that all Enyimba officials were on the bench during the game, the only safe place they could hide.

Despite that, rocks, iron rods and plastic bottles were rained down on the roof of the bench throughout. You dared not raise your head high.

During half time, the match officials and match commissioner were victims of the stoning and they had to retreat to the bench of Etoile.

It was our water the match officials had to drink. Etoile officials abandoned them. Unbelievable scenes. Never seen anything like that.

We are still on the road. Police escorts had to make a detour after they were informed Etoile fans were waiting for us somewhere.

Finally. We arrive our hotel. A remarkable day it's been.

Enyimba keeps on bringing joy to Nigerians and some ask why they are celebrating.

The last time a Nigerian club qualified to the group stages was in 2012.

Enyimba is still the only club to have won the title in Nigeria.

Let these boys celebrate their victory. They can lift the cup again. I believe.

They were exceptionally lucky to win but luck cannot be on their side always, they have a lot of work to do

up enyimba enyimba enyi. even with the temp of 15° una try jari. people wey no sabi football and the effects of low temp on performance go de shout say enyimba no good. just negodu. i those days of Nationale fc they wore three to four shirts to protect themselves from cold in a particular match many yrs ago.

Despite all the silly distractions from the hosts before the match, despite your silly mistakes, despite the 1st half officiating, despite staring into defeat in the penalty shootout, despite the laser shining incidents, despite the threat of constant violence, you came out on top.
I was worried about Mazembe and Mamelodi but they are both out.
Algerian and Egyptian intimidation is no worse than the Tunisian one so as long as they learn from their mistakes in Tunisia, all will be well.

You right. They lost 3 - 1 on aggregate to wydad casablanca of Morocco.
Don't know why caf can't just allow the top two or three teams from Africa leagues respectively move into the group stage automatically like we have in the uefa champions League. This qualifiers before group stage is a waste of manpower and financial resources.
