There are lot of ways bloggers earn money. Some eg advert, sponsorship have already been mentioned.
If you need to blog, you are expected to be an authority in that area you have chosen as your niche, not all these copy and paste bloggers we have around.
You equally make money through consultancy on that your niche eg businessam you can equally sell ebook.

He is right. When you click like in a blog or on facebook the site owner makes money, apart from advert or online biz, logging in alone in Facebook Mark Zuckenberg has started earning money

when u launch ur blog, start making post and having good traffic.. U monetize ur traffic by online companies like Google adsense, media.net, Adchoice etc.. When dey put adverts on ur site. So when ppl visit ur site dey create impressions.. There's a term PPC paid per click. Once a click is made on any ad on ur site u earn..
