Solomon Arase, the Inspector-General of Police, said all suspected Fulani herdsmen involved in the attack on Ukpabi Nimbo community of Uzo-Uwani in Enugu State on Monday, would be arrested and prosecuted. Arase gave the assurance on Wednesday in Nimbo, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of the state when he visited the community.

“Nobody has the right to take life of another person and go scot-free, police will make sure that all those involved are arrested and prosecuted. “If our men have not been proactive, may be the damage may have been more devastating.

” He said that the police would increase its presence in the community and in the local government area. “On behalf of the police command in the country, I commiserate with families of those who lost their beloved ones and sympathise with the injured.

“The police will continue to protect lives and property of the people; the death of one person diminishes humanity. “Am here for on the spot assessment of the situation so as to find lasting solution to the problem,’’ he said.
