ASSOCIATION of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, yesterday, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the payment of salaries of Federal Public Servants by April 25, urging him to ensure that other benefits such as promotion arrears among other allowances owed Federal employees were settled in good time.

Recall that for some months now, payment of salaries of Federal Workers have been delayed and that prompted President Buhari to direct the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, OAGF, to ensure that salaries are paid by the 24th or 25th of every month.

In a statement, ASCSN Secretary-General, Alade Bashir Lawal, expressed joy that the OAGF carried out the directive of Mr. President as April 2016 salaries of federal officers had been paid.

“We commend Mr. President for this directive and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation for carrying it out. It is our hope that the OAGF has put necessary machinery in place to sustain the payment schedule and not to relapse to the old ways after few months,” the Union stated.

ASCSN posited that early payment of salaries would boost the morale of employees and ginger them to improve their productivity and urged the state governments to emulate the Federal Government on early payment of salaries to their workers.

The body also urged President Buhari to ensure that outstanding salaries, promotion arrears and other allowances owed Federal workers and captured in the 2016 Budget were paid as soon as it was signed into Law.

In the last administration, they took the payment of salaries, arrears and allowances for granted because it was always paid between 22nd to 25th of every month. But today they are praising and also begging for their allowances and arrears which are even their entitlements. Such is life.

When your main income earner loses 60% of its value and you're still able to meet up with your obligations, your family and workers if they have any sense will applaud you.

I think that's what's happening here so its right we allow them praise their employer.

Any man or family who has been dealt a blow by the ups and downs of life will surely understand this.

yesterday i was at Zone C police command at abeokuta, the police there were insulting Buhari because their salaries have not been paid and we speak today, till date some civil servants are yet to get salaries and some praise singers are here hailing BUHARi. we already know people that will destroy this government.

Nigerians are d most gullible pple in d world. Am a security personnel, have not been paid a dime, a lot of my friends from army, navy, airforce, police and even civil defence have not received their salary.20% of Nigeria workers most especially in d education sector have received their salaries but not security agents.so most of d view u see in d news are mere propaganda

Not all the civil servants that have received salary ...my landlord works with njc Abuja but yesterday he told me that they have not received penny and he is APC member

What is the score here? Where you not getting you salary early before buhari took over Is salary not supposed to be paid by a least last week of the month You people should stop making buhari think he doing you guys a favor anytime normal thin is done

Buhari do not asked for the prompt payment of vigilante group,pls and pls,it is not every avenue you will use to promote your hate for this administration,how much your brother owned states before he was disgraced out?
Even when almost all the states were unable to pay salaries,he was busy directing the sharing of money meant for arms.
