The truth is that not all snakes are poisonous.....you might have killed an endangered species of the snakes.....if OP can send a proper picture if the snake's head undeformed then would I be able to tell if its a poisonous snake or not.

From d pic, the snake has a black head and a grey body. Can u tell with that?

It's simple!
1. Put your ears to the ground if you will hear wailing that someone has died.
2. If you do, call your pastor for prayers and if you don't, then thank God. Just go to the hospital for check up!

Good morning nairalanders. Some minutes after saying my morning prayers, I went out to feel the morning air. All of a sudden, I saw something moving at a corner. A long black snake. Now this is a built up area and I have no idea how this snake got here. The reptile was moving in a suspicious manner and I just knew I mustn't let it go. Since it was within my compound and close to the building.

I quickly grabbed a stick and attacked it. The snake put up a show, dangling its head and tongue and dodging my blows for about 4 minutes. Finally killed it. See attached pictures.

About an hour later I noticed my right palm seems swollen and is a little painful. Any idea what could have caused that? Please note that I didn't touch the snake at all. I used a stick and a cutlass.

Can anybody give me possible reasons for the swelling and pain in my hand? Also, what kind of snake is this? I haven't seen something similar before. Thanks for your response.

May be you were bitten by a snake without you knowing it. When snake bites you , pain is always like a sharp needle. Find out if there is any opening on ur palm, open it with needle and remove the venom. The venom is White in colour. Or puncture that openings and put black stone on it to remove it .

He should quickly go and take snake antedote/injection, maybe the snake bite him before he killed it or he has touched the teeth of the snake.

please help me my hand swells like that too. sometimes it itches me. went to see some doctors they said they have not seen it before that i should come back when its swollen but it doesnt last
