In view of the recent happenings in Nigeria about the budget fiasco, I am compelled to create this thread

Below is the analysis of when PDP passed the Nigerian budget into law.

Mr president have been viciously attacked by members of the opposition on this forum who have been making comparisons with the previous government on the budget fiasco without knowing exactly when the budget was signed in to law each year.

It is well known that, the government of President Buhari would have signed the budget into law in April but for the mass distortions carried out by some unpatriotic members of the national house of assembly and the deliberate politics being played by the legislative body in view of the senate president's travails with the CCT. The NASS members seems to be against the masses.

I am very glad Nigeria now have a President who will not be bullied or intimated by NASS simply because the "ghana must go" doesn't go round again. We once had a president who will not even dare face NASS to present the national budget in 2013 and 2014 for fear of intimidation especially in 2014 after the police invasion of NASS due to the defection of the speaker to APC. He rather sent his finance minister and later signed 2013 to 2015 budget away from public eyes.

With the biggest budget in the history of Nigeria and the leadership of President Buhari and active Vice President Osinbajo, Nigeria is on the path to greatness

My problem with the process this time around is that the APC followers are using the issue as a propaganda against the National Assembly, it is not new at all. But some people want to make it look like the National Assembly is trying to sabotage the president. Once again it is the normal process simple.

So with the revelations so far from the massive allocations to constituency projects, and the additional projects illegally imputed by the NASS members, this is your submission?

Some people are beyond redemption

At least we all know that 2016 budget is delayed because of PMB's unyielding to padding and other frauds perpetuated by the legislooters. What was their own reasons for the delays in those years despite Ghana-must-go exchanging hands? For more paddings and frauds?

Its a simply to return it to the National Assembly, make your disagreement with what they passed known to them, then sit with the Legislatures to harmonize after which the legislature passes it into law. without creating media buzz on an issue as simple as this. Who told you any president gets what he sends to the National Assembly exactly as he sent it. take the US for example, Obama is always in a fight with the National Assembly during budget process too. He doesn't get what he send to them exactly all the time.

2. Bubu campaigned on the mantra of "CHANGE" which means a total departure from the old way of embedding "extras" in the budget.....

3. Too many vested interests involved in supremacy battle and the budget happens to be the readily available tool.

This is Buhari's first budget. Hitches are expected. The. President have taken proactive steps to avoid a repetition of this, by directing that work should start on the 2017 budget and i believe work has started.
There is a change in the shameless past as the distortions that will be overlooked before, are now being scrutinized and the there is so much transparency in the handling of the budget now.

Nobody supports budget padding, I am not in support too. But the process was designed the way it is for this very reason. Remember the executive themselves first padded the budget heavily, then started looking for whom to blame for that. So they are not saints when it comes to budget padding. so if they don't like what they see, simply return and discuss for peace to reign between the executive and legislative arm of Government. Simple

Most of the wailers blaming Buhari on this forum only started paying attention to politics around 2014, and they are too intellectually lazy to do a simple google search to verify their info before jumping online to spew trash in the name of 'comparative opposition.'
