The minister of agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh has suggested the importation and cultivation of good and nutritious grass as part of the effort to end the frequent clashes between herdsmen and farmers.

With the many problems that Nigeria faces at the moment, from our steady falling currency rate, to the lack of fuel and electricity, how does the importation of a natural resource like grass help our economy and our people?

Is that the easiest solution to our problems? The importation of grass from countries such as USA, that don’t even have the huge amounts of fertile and arable land available to us here in Nigeria.

According to Ogbeh, we do not have quality grass in the whole of Nigeria so therefore must result to importing it. Is the best solution not to find ways and mechanisms to increase the potency and nutrients of our grasses?
