You stated the reason yourself - they're already stars; the créme de la créme of the EPL before they left. If anything, they maintained their unusual work rate.


La Liga rejects, on the other hand, move to the EPL to carve niches for themselves. I mean, as mediocre, they know they'd fare better and bask in whatever spotlight is beamed amongst other glorified mediocres.
